I am one of the core members of illustBuy, SIMON, and I also like to draw. Two other friends and I initially started illustBuy, an online painting sharing platform, in 2018. The reason for developing illustBuy at the beginning is also very simple, that is, it is hoped that the creators' efforts can be recognized by the society and receive equal economic remuneration. I will never forget my excitement when I attended the fan booth for the first time and my book was bought for the first time! Even if it only ended up selling a few comics, I was already very satisfied!

For me, the recognition of my work by others makes me find a sense of existence and motivates me to continue to improve, even if the family around me does not support me in painting, even if I am alone.

So, the hard work behind the artist should not be ignored, and it is more worthy of getting reasonable compensation. Painting is also a professional skill, and you can earn money to support yourself by creating, so what's the surprise?

delegation system

In order to achieve this goal, it took us more than a year to finally complete the major revision of illustBuy, and launched a new function [entrustment system] in January this year. In the future, painters can apply for commissions on the platform, in addition to earning money, they can also attract more people to pay attention to their works.

In the system, we provide the delegation methods of [Public Delegate] and [Specify Delegate]. The client can post a new case on the commission board, and then wait for the painters to apply; or the client can directly contact the favorite artist to make an appointment.

One of the features of the system is that the entire commissioning process is divided into three stages:

1. Pairing stage

2. The first draft stage

3. Finalization stage

Both parties to the delegation can view the current progress in the [Delegation Schedule], and each step will be recorded by the system.

In order to avoid the situation that the artist receives insufficient remuneration after submitting the manuscript, the client needs to pay the platform before commissioning, thus improving the protection for the artist. After the first draft is accepted, the system will send 30% of the remuneration to the artist; after the finished draft is accepted by the entruster, the artist will receive the remaining 70% of the remuneration, which can also improve the protection for the entrusting party. Another situation is that when there is a dispute between the entrusting parties in the process and a consensus cannot be reached, the platform has an [arbitration] function, which allows the platform to intervene in the negotiation or make a ruling as a third party, so that the entrustment can be carried out smoothly.
