Finished the first shot of Pfizer

Share the experience of the first vaccine from appointment to vaccination, as well as some recent experiences

I have long decided to get the COVID vaccine. Ontario also opened vaccinations for all age groups two weeks ago, but I have been tossing about the background check of the new company interview, plus I have to resign from the old company and return all the WFH equipment, so I didn't start looking for a vaccine appointment online until last weekend. In fact, this year of the epidemic has been a good gap year for me. Last fall, when the company asked me to go back to the office, I kept off at home because I was worried about the epidemic, so I got I spend a lot of time reading and writing, taking online courses and exercising at home, and at the same time I am determined to jump out of my comfort zone and start looking for a new job. The new job is close to home and the income and benefits are good. I completely work from home during the epidemic, and the most important thing is that I can finally do it Back to the law, the daily repetitive processing of documents really gave me no motivation at all, so it’s a good thing to stop and settle for a while.

Speaking of making an appointment for vaccination, I have registered a waitlist in several nearby pharmacies. Once an available appointment is available, I will receive a text message and email notification and then I can directly click on the connection to make an appointment. I have no previous experience, so I received the notification for the first time It took an hour to click to see it, and it turned out that all the appointments had been booked. So after I received the notification on Thursday night, I really did not wait a minute to open the connection and confirm it for a while. Then I filled out a piece of information online. The form specifically asks about substances that may be allergic The needle is the choice of Pfizer and Moderna.

The place I made an appointment is the Shoppers Drug Mart closest to my home (as everyone in Canada knows), this pharmacy is a pharmacy I usually go shopping for and I am very familiar with. I got there about 20 minutes earlier and checked with the staff first. -in, just show the health card and Confirmation Code, and then go to the waiting area to wait for the vaccine. All the Pfizers are provided here for my appointment. The pharmacist in the pharmacy should give me the injection. Let me know before the injection Which vaccine was used, asked me whether to hit the left arm or the right arm (it is recommended to avoid the other side where I usually write and do things), and then explain the possible side effects, and I have to stay for 15 minutes after the shot to see if there is any serious allergic reaction. The pharmacist is very nice, I asked her about the things that need to be avoided, can she do exercise after the injection, etc. She also chatted with me a few words by the way, it turned out that she only finished the second injection the day before, and she delayed the vaccination because she did not want to take time off. So it's been really hard to drag until now. She said that the side effects of the first injection were actually worse than the second injection, but there are many colleagues who have no special reaction to the two injections, so it all depends on the individual's constitution. The injection is actually a few seconds. I don't feel dizzy or even feel any pain. After the injection, there was a receipt from the pharmacy that I brought to the same place to get the same vaccine when I got the second injection. While I was waiting, I also stopped by to buy something. Then drive home and get it done.

It is said that it will take several hours for side effects to appear after the injection. I have read the experience and advice shared by many online friends before, so I have also made full preparations, such as drinking more water before and after the vaccination, and eating something before the injection to avoid fasting. That night, I didn't feel a little sore in the arm where I was injected until I went to bed, and then I went to bed. I slept very well all night. I didn't have chills or fever in the morning, and I didn't have a headache or muscle pain. The only thing I feel so far is the injection. My arm is really sore, but it should be considered very light. After this experience, the second injection is not nervous, even if the side effects will be bigger, it is ok, but the second injection in Canada is all postponed to try to get the first injection. The second injection of Pfizer will take at least two or three months. Looking at the data, the protection after the first injection of Pfizer is good, but it is still necessary to strictly abide by the epidemic prevention measures, wear a mask and maintain social distance, and then you can wait with peace of mind to start a new job , and still work from home, which is great.

Today, I see that 67.6% of adults in Ontario have received at least one shot, which is getting closer and closer to the goal of 75%. I still recommend that all friends who can get vaccinated should get vaccinated, for themselves, for others, and for the community Immunization requires enough people to produce antibody protection to form. I learned an online course before about why people are against or unwilling to be vaccinated. In fact, there is almost no way to convince those who are resolutely against vaccines. They can only try to talk to those who have doubts. Hesitant to communicate with people. A friend of mine has been reluctant to get vaccinated, but her situation is a little different. Although she also told me about side effects or safety concerns, she gave me the feeling that she was more reluctant. back to normal. She feels very comfortable now that she can work from home without having to commute every day, and she only goes out once a week if she does not go out. It seems that the risk is very low. Vaccination seems to be connected with back to normal, and she is very Resist. (Is this a bit selfish?) Because my current principle is not to interfere with other people's issues, so I will not try too hard to try to convince her, I can only express my position. There is a lot of discussion about the anxiety, and I am also a little worried about the future of going back to the office or even taking off the mask completely, but everyone should still do their best to make everything back to normal, right?
