Do you want to call, or stare?

At the Google I/O conference in the past few days, Google released a new concept design, which allows users to activate the smart device without first saying the keyword "Hey, Google" when operating a smart device with voice. The device listens for commands. Will you like this design? What I prefer is...
Picture taken from Google's official website.

The design, called " Look and Talk " ("Look and Talk"), allows users to keep their eyes on the device without saying a keyword before issuing a command, and the device will start receiving voice commands.

This design is quite creative, because it can make voice commands a little easier. But there are two problems with this:

  1. The device must be placed in line of sight, and there is no way to issue commands if it cannot be seen. Perhaps it will retain the keyword activation function for use at this time.
  2. There must be a camera lens on the device, and it must be on at all times in order to scan the "staring" eyes. Just the voice activation, there are already some people who will think that they are "eavesdropped", not to mention the camera lens is always on.

My personal preference is to start the voice command, which is actually not too troublesome, but sometimes it will be misjudged, or several devices will be activated at the same time.

If I want to say, I would like to have the function of "custom activation keywords"; in this way, you have to name the device, or use "hello" or "bar" to activate it from the next room, it will be more convenient .
