The Useless Use of Shiba Doll - Self-introduction of the Validator

TL;DR: The SF RES Land node will donate 80% of the commission income/HKD 500 (the higher of the two) to organizations that help poor families every month it goes live. Long-term expectations can be narrowed by this. digital divide.
when just online

I have been a validator of the Chihuahua Chain for a few days, and I have been experiencing the struggle of a small validator playing a musical chair at the bottom of the list. After several ups and downs, he was finally kicked out of the top 100. Suspended all withdrawals due to a backdoor in crypto.com , stopped and reflected on what I was doing.

origin

The idea of becoming a validator started with getting to know Likecoin. I really agree with the concept of Likecoin. At that time, the validator of Likecoin had just increased to fifty places. After watching it for a while, and maintaining less than 50 units, I thought it would be better to learn to be a validator myself and set up a node.

Then I worked hard to read the likecoin file, only to find that my lack of knowledge was greater than I imagined. It took almost half a year before and after, and I finally figured out the blockchain, consensus mechanism, and the technology behind it. I am confident that I can set up a node and manage it. At that time, the number of validators of Likecoin has exceeded 50, and the cost of entry has also increased. And I stopped.

Later, I was attracted by different things in the cosmos ecosystem (NFT, airdrop, osmosis, evm, etc.), and gave up the idea of being a validator (although I tried to build nodes in different chains in the middle, but I did not intend to be a validator seriously, mainly is a cost issue, no confidence).

meet shiba doll

Until I received the airdrop of Chi Doll recently, let's see what project this is. When I went to the official website, I thought that I had entered the wrong website for the first time (if you went to their website at the beginning of Chihuahua, you would know what I said), and then I looked carefully and realized that I was not wrong. And they are also useless coins under the banner of righteousness, and they really laughed from the heart when they saw it.

Look at their explorer again, there are a lot of vacancies for validators, why don't you try it, I thought that anyway, the price of Dogecoin and Shiba Inucoin has dropped sharply recently. It should be a cost that I can afford. Useless coins are just right for a purposeless person like me, and it will also be a good study. (I naively didn't watch APR at that time, I didn't think it would be a money-making project)

I was also lazy in setting up nodes. Finally, I watched the number of validators rise from more than 70 to about 90 before the installation was completed. (Actually, the node is set up, and the synchronization starts from the beginning. In the case of Chihuahua, two days are enough for everything)

Roller coaster set sail

One of the roller coasters

The first two days of being a validator were very nervous, and I was afraid that something might go wrong. But that's not the point, because within a few days, the number of validators will be over 100. I didn't go out of my way to promote myself, and the roller coaster of the validators who accompany the last seat began.

After experiencing the life of a validator for two or three days, I have understood the difference between being a validator and setting up a node only. Now I can't stop it casually, change the settings casually, and maintain the amount of delegation. But to be honest, I don't like publicity very much either.

Two days ago, it was shared in the discord private channel by the chihuahua validator. Now you have to be a validator, maintain the security of the chain and make contributions to the society (if you are contributing and running a secure validator). The first time I saw it, I was really emotional. The validator is a kind of contribution, why should we make additional contributions? But after calming down and rereading the whole sentence, he just pointed out the facts, it was just that I was hit by the pain and reacted on my own.

Then my node went offline again. After a round of thinking, I think I still have to make a final investment (investment must be done according to our ability, there is no investment that must be profitable in the world, there are always risks), if it still does not work, then forget it.

Unexpectedly, the traffic congestion on Crypto.com made it impossible for me to exchange DeFi for Chi Doll after buying coins, and I watched my node go offline in vain. However, it is easier to go offline, and you don't have to worry about when you will be kicked out of the top 100.

stop and reflect

The first question is to ask yourself, do you still need to invest resources? If it doesn't become a 100-year-old, those Chiba dolls will be locked on the node for 28 days (because I redelegate the past), and anything can happen after 28 days. It's better for An An to be happy and earn that 4xx APR.

Then I thought of a Facebook post I saw recently, and reflected on those of us who are in the blockchain, sometimes picking (or encountering) good projects, and having enough capital, we have the opportunity to double our assets, However, many people lack even the opportunity to learn these knowledge due to economic reasons. How can this digital divide be narrowed?

start again

Reflecting on this, I thought, if my node can be maintained, why not use the node commission to narrow the gap? Anyway, I had already prepared the server expenses for operating the validator for about a year. Isn't it a beautiful thing to take cryptocurrency and use it so that more people can use technology to improve their lives?

Therefore, I decided to donate 80% of the commission to the organizations or institutions I know that are serious about supporting poor families, hoping that they can help poor families to bridge a little bit of the digital divide in Hong Kong, a city that is infinitely locked down.

Practical practice:

If the node can be maintained for a long time:

On the 1st of each month, the commission income of the previous month will be announced and withdrawn, and the value of the Chihuahua at the time of withdrawal will be used (if the commission value is less than HK$500, HK$500 will be donated) to the designated organization in the name of Chihuahua, and the Relevant proofs are placed on the matter and node websites. The donor agency will announce it in the previous month to ensure that each delegator has enough time to decide whether or not to agree with the decision. If they do not agree, the delegation can be transferred from the node.

If the status is inactive on the 1st of the next month, the above actions will be executed once, and then after another month, it will be quietly offline.

The organization targeted for donation in the first month is Manna Ministry . From running social enterprises to providing assistance to families in need, they never consider their own situation first, and give priority to serving the people.

Welcome to play the useless use of Chi Dolls together, and bring even a little change to this painful society. You are also welcome to introduce organizations in different places/countries that are serious about narrowing the digital divide to let me know.

The delegate method is as follows:

1) https://chihuahua.omniflix.co/ Press Delegate to find SF RES Land

2) Use Delegate in Cosmostation app

3) https://ping.pub/chihuahua/staking/chihuahuavaloper1x8drn3260ezg3se6j7w7wqhy090u4wsjt9raj8

thank you all.
