[Traveling to Germany] Christmas in my mind & Nuremberg Christmas Market!

Known as the largest Christmas market in Europe, the main market is located in front of the Church of Our Lady. It has a history of 400 years and attracts many tourists every year. . .

In fact, when I was a child, my family didn't celebrate Christmas, and my parents didn't pretend to be Santa Claus to give gifts. So when I was a child, I didn't really feel very much about Christmas. I wonder if it was because of my family's beliefs or a more Buddhist and Taoist relationship? In short, the feeling of Christmas is that after growing up, it is probably the packaging of various stores. Gradually, there is a kind of Christmas. Christmas is a day with a happy atmosphere and gifts can be exchanged, but often choosing to exchange gifts is a choice obstacle. , and then when you draw gifts, you are both looking forward to and afraid of being hurt!

Later, many places in Taiwan opened Christmas markets, but I always felt that the commercial atmosphere was heavy, and then I really didn’t like crowds. Although I like Christmas lights very much, I want to take pictures every year, but I saw media reports. These places are always crowded with people, so I often give up directly. Anyway, when I go there, I take pictures of a lot of people. Those pictures of the publicity photos with clear space (the kind of photos that only have beautiful lighting) are very difficult for me to encounter! That's right, although several regions in Taiwan have held Christmas markets for many years in a row, I haven't been to any of them, so the first, second, and third Christmas markets I visited in my life, They are all shopping on the way. I have written articles about the first two markets before:

The third market is the one to be introduced today, the Nuremberg Christmas Market.

Temporary Christmas market added to the itinerary

I stayed in Munich for a week at that time, and I wanted to find a day to go to the King's Lake, but it was already winter at that time, and the Upper Lake District had been closed. In addition, the forecasts on the King's Lake in those days were all foggy. It seems that It’s not very suitable to go to [it was probably foggy when I went there]. One day, I chatted with an international student I met in Budapest. He suggested that I can go to Nuremberg instead. After searching, the Christmas market in Nuremberg seems to be known as the world The biggest, so I decided to set aside a day to see it!

There are also choir performances...

Nuremberg Christmas Market

It is known as the largest Christmas market in Europe. The main market is located in front of Notre Dame Church. It has a history of 400 years. It used to attract a lot of tourists every year. Fortunately, the day I went was not a holiday. There were many people but not enough. It is crowded, and there are countless Christmas-related ornaments. In fact, it is easier to get crazy than the market in Munich. Almost every Christmas ornament stall in Germany has its own characteristics. Be careful with your wallet. ! Fortunately, I visited the Munich market first, and I didn't lose blood again here (not much luggage space)!

It was daytime when I arrived. Although the weather was cold, it was very cooperative and gave me blue sky and white clouds.

The main market is in the area in front of Notre Dame Church. There are really many stalls here, but there are still some stalls in the outer area when you wander around.

There is also a children's area with a cute carousel.

When the lights are turned on at night, the feeling is different again. After turning on the lights, the carousel becomes very dreamy!

Lunch with friends from travel

I spent a day in Nuremberg like this. In fact, I arrived at about noon. The international student I met in Budapest was studying in Nuremberg. Before graduation, he traveled around Europe in a spare time. At this time, he had returned to Nuremberg, so we first We had lunch together. There were a lot of people that day, and we shared a table with Mo Shengren. We ordered two main dishes to share.

German beer is quite famous, and I ordered a glass that day, and it belongs to the more obvious taste of wheat.

Then he gave a general introduction to where to go, and then went back to work. The life of a graduate student is actually quite nostalgic. . .

After that, I went shopping around, and I didn’t go back to the market until it was getting dark. In fact, this city is quite beautiful. There are many high-rise buildings in several German cities that I went to before, and you can see it along the road here. Such a gabled roof house!

Then there is a waterway or a small river in the middle and it feels very romantic. Why is this?

After hanging around until the sun goes down, I am ready to go back to the evening market.

Blue Hour in Nuremberg

market at night

The Christmas market in Nuremberg, wait until it gets dark and come back for a visit again, it really has a Christmas atmosphere at night!

I bought a small dessert to eat. The inside is strawberry and the outside is chocolate. The staff I like this European version of candied haws very much. As long as I see it, I can't help but buy it. Maybe it's cold and I need sweets to add calories!

Every stall looks planned.

In fact, I like the atmosphere of the Prague Christmas market the most, the mulled wine is also the Czech, I like the food in Munich the most and I bring the most souvenirs back home, and the overall environment I like the most in Nuremberg, and I have never been there. During the Christmas market, during the period when I was walking and jumping in Europe, I visited the markets in three different cities in a row. Will I get tired of it? It doesn't seem to be, maybe this year in Taiwan, you will choose a market to visit?

This photo was taken when I was about to leave. I quite like the Christmas tree reflected on the water in the distance. It feels like a lively atmosphere from a distance!

On this day of wandering around Nuremberg, I think it is indeed a beautiful city, but this year, many Christmas markets in Europe may not be held, and the last time I didn't go to the King's Lake! I don't know when it will happen! ?
