The fairness and unfairness of clapping hands, pass by and say a few words

This is a topic that I often see, and I will say a few words this time.

When I started writing at Matters, I also added Civic Liker, because I thought it was necessary, and it was an annual fee. And part of this annual fee was used to support some online media at that time, such as stand news, public news and independent media. Now that Gang Media has disintegrated, the original intention is not as important as it used to be.

Later, when I renewed the meeting for the first time, I noticed that Matters and LikeCoin are two different individuals. Here, to accumulate Like coins by posting and receiving applause, it is not necessary to become a citizen of appreciation first. A member with the lowest entry threshold said that It is already available for general Liker without paying any fees. So the first thing to understand is that there are two different types of members, Civic Liker and Liker. If you have a green circle on your avatar, you are a Civiv Liker. To borrow the terminology of @readbigeng , "each user's "palm power" is different", and the difference is huge.

Therefore, if you feel that the number of clapping is high, but the Like Coin you receive is disproportionate, the most likely reason is that most of the clapping you receive is from general Likers. The screenshots below are from my own account, you can see that the number of clapping hands and the number of Like Coins are not directly related.

Another key is the number of people's clapping every day. If you clap your hands for 100 articles, and you clap your hands for 10 articles, there is a natural difference in how much you can convert into Like Coins. I don't know how the base system is calculated, but suppose you pay five dollars a month to appreciate other authors, and divide the five dollars into ten pieces and divide them into one hundred pieces. Isn't it obvious that there is a difference? The screenshots below are also from my own account. I only clapped my hands for five articles last week, and I clapped my hands five times, but there are still differences in the Like Coins converted. The highest is nearly 20, and the lowest is only eight. It is also unexplainable. It may be that more people clapped their hands at the same time one day, and the matching fund was divided. Therefore, I think clap should be restrained. Although some people praise citizens, they are set to automatically clap for each article. As a result, the "gold content" is not as good as that of ordinary Likers. It can be said that they are doing bad things with good intentions.

Personally, I have absolutely no feeling for the action of clapping my hands on every article. It is obvious that I clapped my hands without reading the article at all. It is definitely not a question of palm strength and currency value, but this kind of "indiscriminate" practice. There is no appreciation or encouragement at all. effect, even giving people a sense of charity or pity. Just like when you walk around the market and every stall owner calls you a pretty boy and a pretty girl, you wouldn't just think that you are the most beautiful man and woman in the world, right? If you know how to clap your hands, you will clap your hands only if you read the article and feel good, have resonance, and increase your knowledge. There are too many articles and too little time, so the number is not too many, but the screenshot above shows that every time I take a full shot (5 shots), the author has more than ten Likes, which should play a role. On the contrary, the clapping I collected myself, as shown in the picture, tried 16 clapping hands, and only replaced it with 0.0175 Likes!

Therefore, I also do not participate in mutual shooting, because there are too many asymmetries, just like the above example, once and for all, the difference is too big, it is difficult to say that it is fair, it is like if I give you five dollars, you give me five Koreans in return Circle, no matter how you say it, it can't be equal. I have been here for more than two years, and there are more than 150 works, but none of them has more than 100 clapping hands. Poor, right? I understand the rules of the game. I have written about my experience . I know that online writing requires social connections and promotion to make some progress, but I have never been good at this, so I have decided to deal with it in a Buddhist way. It may be that things are clustered together. Several authors who follow each other have similar behaviors. Some of them write almost every day. They never mention anything about clapping their hands and likes.

The fee for that year is $5 a month, or $50 for a year (just from memory, please correct me if I am wrong). When you renew the membership, if you have accumulated a certain amount of Like Coins, you can use it to pay the annual fee. Now that the method of payment has been cancelled, as long as you "entrust" a certain number of Like Coins, you can become a citizen of appreciation. I paid the annual fee last year, and there are still four months to go. They have converted it into a thousand Like Coins and returned it to me. I have also "entrusted" them to continue as a Civic Liker. It suddenly occurred to me that if most of them became appreciative citizens, would it make the situation better?
