Why did I get into graduate school but didn't study?

For example, I was admitted to a graduate school in a national school, but after thinking about it for a while, I didn't study it, and I didn't even keep my student status.

Two years after I started working, I applied to a later institute in the National Institute, and I was successfully admitted to the second place. Although the supervisor was very supportive of me to study, and even willing to adjust the class according to my time, but I still did not have it. Go, because I find that I don't really seem to find the purpose of going to graduate school, I don't want to do it just for the master's degree.

What is the purpose of the Institute?

I think this is the most important reason to think about it! Just like many people will ask me, should I go directly to graduate school after graduating from college or go back to study after working for a few years? I don’t think there is an absolute standard answer. There are many aspects to consider. More importantly, do you want to study? What is the purpose of the institute?

Most of the students of science and engineering department will go on to graduate school after graduation, because for them, the starting salary of university and the starting salary of master's degree are two different worlds, and even many vacancies limit master's degree, research Graduation is a career ticket.

Let’s go back to me, I was determined to work first and then consider the research institute. The first one is the medical school. The clinical business and the degree of the research institute have nothing to do with it. In reality, the monthly salary can be increased by 2,000 yuan. Left and right; the second is that at that time, I didn’t have a special theme that I wanted to explore, and it seemed that I just wanted to get a diploma after studying in the graduate school.

Two years after I started working, my original motivation for applying for the exam was because I felt familiar with my work and wanted to further my studies, so I signed up. However, I don’t seem to have any topics that I am particularly interested in. If I don’t have a strong motivation, I just want to listen. Listening to the class seems to be less necessary in this way. After all, there are many channels for further study, but the research institute is at least two years.

Departments are important schools are also important

Whether to choose a school or a department, now more and more students are advised to choose a department instead of a school. There are many interesting departments that have not been dealt with in Taiwan. If you choose a department you don’t like, you can’t do it in the future. It's hard to love a job, and I was a big believer in that when I was a high school student. But now I think both are important and both need to be taken into account. One reason is that after leaving the society, companies will still care about what school they graduated from, unless it is a relatively special department and industry, which of course is known in the corresponding work circle; but in the eyes of the general public, a good school is still a good school. Very good points. In addition, as an alumnus of the Big Four, I think another reason is the people and resources at the school.

Although the category of research institute I applied for was not opened by the four majors, and maybe everyone in the occupational therapy circle knows it, but I don’t think I like the department more than the school’s reputation. I don’t mean to fight the school, I’m just honest Say what I think, of course, if there is experience to testify, the school is not so important; but if not, then we can only rely on the reputation of the school as a stepping stone to work.

Of course, maybe I haven't found the reason why you must study. If you have already studied in graduate school, what is the reason why you must study?
