But the author's memory of his father was forcibly stayed on March 11, 1947.

As a highly intellectual and dedicated to Taiwan, his father was taken away by five or six police officers that morning. The father before being taken away stared at each child one by one, and finally left a sentence: "Listen to your mother's words. ." Then the police left, and his whereabouts are unknown since then.

In order to find the whereabouts of the father and the family to disperse the family wealth, and later to escape the government's oppression under the White Terror, the author's mother sold the property and the family took refuge in Hong Kong.

Chapter 2 - Marrying as Mrs. and Mrs.

After arriving in Hong Kong, thanks to my father's connections during his lifetime, the author married the son of Dr. Gao Jingyuan, a pioneer in obstetrics and gynecology in Taiwan. Feelings and emotions

I cried while reading this book.

Just like the content of the book introduced earlier, the text of this book is not gorgeous, all the words describe the memories in life, and after reading the whole text, you can feel the perseverance and life attitude without complaining. This is my first impression after reading it.

As for the second feeling, it is the skill of the author. As mentioned in the postscript, the interview with the author in this book has been on and off for more than three years. How to concatenate moving words from fragmentary fragments, so that although we can directly hear the voices of the parties, we can also empathize with them.

In the end, this book brought me a deeper reflection. Born in an era when the president was directly elected and speech was very free, the day of February 28 was just a happy holiday for us, and the true face of the events of that year has not yet been announced. In the world, many children who are suffering have passed their hearts, and their memories of the past cannot be told. Every year on February 28, they watch politicians and officials continue to show off, and the media wantonly pick up people's scars to gain attention. This day is for them. How long and unbearable.

In history, the winner is always the king and the loser is the bandit. I have not experienced the original incident, so I cannot comment on the right or wrong of both parties. It would be biased to assume that the other party is at fault based on the words of one party. Just like the old saying, "A slap doesn't make a clapping." What we learn in school in historical events is just the official saying: there is only a mob, no tyranny. When the government deliberately hides the truth, and when the other party has died, the families of the victims will never know the truth, and they will never be able to let go of the pain in their hearts.

The purpose of studying history is not to praise any martyrs who sacrificed or criticize any regime, but to change the original outdated thoughts or policies through the fact of their sacrifice, and to resolve the old wishes and unite the people with the objective and true appearance of history.

The 228 incident has never been understood by the new generation of students of the tragic experience behind the holiday. Without the truth, it is impossible to understand the true appearance of history. As the bereaved family members grow old, everything flows into the torrent of time, and the lives of those generations of heroes seem to be worthless.
