Preparation before the game: buy the board game, think about how to explain the game method (in fact, it doesn’t matter if the students are not very clear, the teacher should know the rules of the game well enough, and reassure the students, so that they feel “don’t worry too much, just follow along, The teacher will definitely help you before you feel overwhelmed.” Sometimes the novelty comes from this “uncertainty”, and I always feel that the students’ “uncertainty” is a double-edged sword, and sometimes it makes students who want to play extremely excited and devoted, Sometimes, students who are not confident will fly directly into outer space. Teachers should be able to provide assistance in a timely manner, so as not to let students get distracted.

How to play:

  1. Everyone takes a sketchbook and whiteboard and writes their name
  2. And randomly pick a new word just taught, don't tell others what question you have drawn, and draw the question on the first page (the teacher starts the hourglass, counts down 60 seconds, and ends the drawing time when the hourglass is over)
  3. Pass the sketchbook clockwise to the classmate next door. The classmate guesses what the previous classmate drew according to the picture on the first page, and writes it on the second page.
  4. Then pass the sketchbook to the next classmate, and the next classmate will draw a pattern on the third page based on the guess on the second page (as long as you draw a picture, start the hourglass to count down for 60 seconds to avoid everyone being overly self-conscious and wasting time)
  5. And so on until the sketchbook 8 pages are completed
  6. The sketchbook is closed and passed to its original owner
  7. Ask the sketchbook owner to take turns telling a story using pictures and guessed words on each page
  8. At this time, the scene will be chaotic. Students can ask the teacher questions or discuss with their classmates what it is. The teacher who has never learned new words will give the answer and ask the student to write on the whiteboard for everyone to know.
  9. Guessing decides the order of storytelling. It is better to choose the students who dare to tell the first two to reduce the insecurity of students who are less confident. The teacher will help, the teacher will help, and the teacher will help.
