地狱未空誓不成佛

Some people say that when I meet China, I will rebel....

Some people say that I will turn against China when I meet China, and some people say that I was brainwashed by Western education. I want to say that although someone asked me how I felt about the Communist Party when I first came to the United States, my answer was that I didn’t. Politics and the Communist Party seem to be something that I only come into contact with in TV and books. It has absolutely nothing to do with my life. Although some Americans know about the lack of human rights in China, no teacher would talk about it when they were in school. Many Americans still know about China in the 1980s and 1990s.

At first, I just found out that many things did not conform to my understanding, such as International Children's Day and Women's Day are not international, for example, most Taiwanese do not think they belong to China at all. When I was a child, I learned about Taiwan's Treasure Island in geography class, which led me to realize that there is also Hainan Island when I grew up... In retrospect, I realize why we should focus on education. This is subtle influence.

I slowly discovered that the government's lies were everywhere, from saying that Japan did not apologize and actually apologized many times, and specifically apologized to the comfort women, to rejecting Japan's post-war indemnity, which caused those comfort women and other victims to live miserably, but accepted Japan's $30 billion in construction funding. From 1994 to 1998, 25% of the money for all road and railway communications in China came from Japan.

This government has never cared about how the people live and die. The time I really realized this was during the Sichuan earthquake. A hundred thousand troops were sent to dig people, but only 100 nurses were sent, and there were not enough people to rescue the people who were dug up. Many doctors and nurses who volunteered to go were blocked from entering. Moreover, if foreign aid was refused for the first three days, people would die if they did not drink water for three days, and China lacked experience in earthquake disaster relief. The teams sent by Japan were not allowed to enter, and those sent from Taiwan were not allowed to enter. In the end, only the corpses were dug up. However, the miracle of digging up a surviving child moved the people and I was really disgusted.

It is said that because Sichuan has a military base, they are not allowed to enter. The lives of countless people are not as important as the ruins of the military base? This kind of value is actually recognized by many Chinese people, because it is not their own family who died. Everyone agrees with abandoning their small family to defend the country, but who is really willing to abandon themselves? They are just willing to give up on others.

Then there was the national silence after the earthquake. A 17-year-old girl uploaded a video in an Internet cafe abusing the victims of the earthquake, and a few adults were standing behind watching the joke. The video was immediately removed by the government and banned from publicity. I was very surprised when I saw it at the time. The education problem of young people is so imminent, yet it is suppressed and regarded as non-existent? And it's not just this girl's problem, aren't the adults behind it even more problematic? How many problems in China are covered in this way? Then cover up to today's juvenile homicides and robberies, and change the law to a funny law that people over 18 can't have any pornography, but 18-year-olds can get married. Hope to reduce juvenile crime? It's really a patchwork.

These are probably the major events that have caused me to turn against China until now. The initial doubts slowly turned into disappointment and then extreme disgust. Even if I knew about the 64 incident, I was not completely disappointed because I thought it was in the past. Now it is not the case, but after the Sichuan earthquake, I clearly felt the way they treat people The cold-blooded, so after the Xinjiang people told me that they disconnected from the Internet for a year and the rumored Tu Village, I also think it is very possible.

That's why I care so much about Hong Kong. I don't want to see tragedies like 64, and I don't want to see Chinese people cheering for tyranny and massacres. After all, everything will have its retribution.
