Daily Notes of Talf's House|Little Kitchen

Even if she doesn't really want to eat this dish, but if she can participate in the cooking process in her own way, then my goal will be achieved.

Because this house belongs to a dual-income family, I am fortunate to have an elder as a backup to cook dinner on weekdays. Only on weekends and holidays will I purchase and cook three meals by myself.

Because my wife loves baking and I am interested in cooking, she is in charge of desserts and breakfasts, and I am in charge of meals.

My daughter is also watching or asking questions during the baking or cooking process. Compared with cooking, baking is less dangerous in operation, so I usually follow my mother to knead the dough and shape the shape more often. They can only ask again: "Dad, is it ready? Can I try it? Can I try it?"

But because of her current body height, hand strength, and concentration are still not enough, I only let her try simple stir-frying green vegetables, cooking dumplings, and picking vegetables. Most of the other time is what I should pay attention to when explaining cooking to him. Safety is the most important thing, although she often runs away when she hears it...🤪

Until this year's Lunar New Year, I prepared a " Pearl Glutinous Rice Balls " for the occasion. She was curious when she saw the completion of the preparation, and when the balls came out, she said that they were cute, and ate several of them with admiration.

Pearl balls , also known as glutinous rice balls, mink cloth balls or pearl balls, originated from Mianyang Sanzong in Hubei Province. The main materials for making pearl balls are ground pork, vegetables, and glutinous rice. When making, the ground meat and vegetables are mixed into a stuffing, made into a ball shape, and then wrapped with glutinous rice, and then steamed. Pearl balls have the meaning of reunion and celebration.

Last week, she suddenly suggested that she wanted to eat this dish again and asked for help, and I agreed immediately. Later, I thought about why she suddenly made this suggestion. Besides really wanting to eat it again, the practice of glutinous rice balls, prepared ground meat. , ingredients, mixed and stirred to make it sticky, kneaded into a ball shape and then dipped in glutinous rice, put it into the electric pot and cooked it. The process is not dangerous and a little fun.

Maybe she had already planted an idea in her mind when she cooked this dish for the festival at that time, thinking that it was a dish that she could complete from start to finish, so even if she didn't really want to eat this dish, she could make it with her. If I participate in the cooking process in my own way, then my goal will be achieved. 💖

For what purpose?
Since I was a child, I was also a person who liked to watch cooking in the kitchen with my mother. After middle school, because my mother had a shift at work, I couldn’t prepare meals during dinner time. My father knew nothing about cooking, so he volunteered to take charge of this task, but he didn’t know anything about cooking. It's just that after my mother has prepared the ingredients and put them in the refrigerator, I just need to find a way to cook them and eat them when I get home from class. After a long time, I will naturally not reject the matter of cooking. Although I can't have good cooking skills, but In addition to eating out, at least have the ability to feed yourself.

So I also hope that my daughter can do the same. Whether it is cooking or baking, in addition to learning how to eat fish, she also has to learn how to catch fish by herself 🎣 , as for whether it is delicious or not, it depends on personal talent or whether you are interested in learning and improving.

The way of love can be simple, simple, and permanent.
