Matters Lab Announces Strategic Partnership with Meson Network

Matters Lab is building a more decentralized social and content graph, so that users can get rid of the platform in the whole process from content creation to distribution, fully control their own creation and social data, and more easily between different platforms Migrate, share.

There are many options for data storage in decentralized networks. For example, for the standard IPFS of the content address, we can use centralized services to pin, such as Pinata, Infura and matter.news; we can also pin through decentralized incentive mechanisms, such as Filecoin, Arweave and Crust.

However, there is no general infrastructure for data reading in a decentralized network, or the bandwidth required to transmit data. When a user wants to retrieve content published by Matters from the IPFS network, he needs to use the IPFS public gateway (gateway). These gateways are voluntarily maintained by the community and lack long-term incentives, making them less sustainable. This is similar to the problem faced by the blockchain: when users want to access the content that Travelloggers save on Ethereum, they need to go through a service provider such as Infura, which is itself centralized.

The bandwidth problem in the decentralized world is what Meson Network wants to solve. Meson Network allows miners to obtain tokens by contributing bandwidth, forming a trustless Content Delivery Network (CDN). The application layer can use the routing table maintained by Meson Network to find the nearest and fastest node for users, improving user experience in a sustainable way.

Matters Lab is proud to announce its partnership with Meson Network to complete an important part of our infrastructure. As a first step, we integrated the Meson Network API into our IPFS popup. When users need to obtain content directly from IPFS, they can be redirected to the nearest node through the Meson Network API to speed up the invocation of content.

As Matters Lab continues to decentralize the underlying social and content graph, there will be more bandwidth requirements. We are excited to work with the Meson Network team to build a truly decentralized social and authoring protocol for each user.

Feel free to comment on your thoughts on new features, and what new ways to play in the future!

About Meson Network

Meson Network is committed to creating an efficient bandwidth market on Web3, using the blockchain protocol model to replace the traditional human-based sales model, efficiently integrating the idle bandwidth of long-tail users and serving users. Meson is the foundation for decentralized storage, computing, and data transfer for the emerging Web3 dapp ecosystem.

About Matters Lab

Founded in 2018, Matters Lab is committed to building a freer and fairer creator ecosystem in the Web3 environment. Among them, it includes the use of decentralized technology tools to complete the confirmation of digital rights, the design of the governance system, and the construction of the creator's economic model.

Matters.News is the first stop of Matters Lab, the largest open source decentralized publishing platform in the Web3 world, with over 80,000 registered writers. The Traveloggers NFT program is the second stop of Matters Lab, with the goal of exploring the creator economic model. Matters Lab is also about to launch The Space project, dedicated to exploring public governance with radical market principles.
