Current affairs look at life|From the air crash joke on hell and respect

Talk show actor JIM used the air crash as a joke on Facebook, sparking a debate among netizens. Discuss and appeal by the definition of hell terrier, moral standards and identities that vary from person to person.

On April 26, 2022, JIM (Cheng Jianping) , a former talk show actor of Sater Entertainment, compared Jiutian Xuannv’s landing stalk and insinuated the air crash recording on Facebook, and specially marked it as “excerpted from the recording file of the Republic of China Army/Civil Aviation crash” , triggering a debate between the two factions of netizens.

Define Hell Terrier

generalized

It is a meme or joke that people know not to laugh, but the corners of their mouths fall into laughter.

narrow sense

Use events (or sensitive issues) that can cause sadness or anger, such as minority or disadvantaged groups, natural and man-made disasters, and life and death matters (or sensitive issues) as humorous and laughing points.

individual factors

moral standard

From the definition of hell terrier, it can be seen that this kind of "joke" is definitely an interesting and stress-relieving existence for groups who find it funny. If it doesn't make people laugh, it's not a meme, or even a malicious act that exposes scars and causes pain. So it has been argued that a lack of empathy is a hell stalk.

Identity and relationship of mocked object and audience

In the United States, talk shows related to racial discrimination are usually self-deprecating by the ethnic group, and because they are self-deprecating, the audience is likely to find it interesting and less critical.

In Taiwan, we sometimes see memes and memes about Africa, many of which are hell stalks, so why is the public's acceptance relatively high? Because of our distance from Africa, culture and context.

reason not to be funny

The connection is not strong enough: what does it have to do with Jiutian Xuannv and the air crash?

In Bohn's radio program "Boyin", the world is hell, Bohn and JIM chatted about a joke that was once rated as a hell stalk by the audience: the ones who scold your teacher are usually boys, and the ones who do it are usually female high school students.

Bonn Zeng, also a comedian, said that if you think this kind of observation joke is hell, then you think it's the world that's hell, not the messenger who delivers the observation. Born argues that he did not harm or encourage, but merely stated the observed facts.

JIM's post is from the extension creation of "Fortune-telling Aunt Jiutian Xuannv's Scattered Flowers" of the Youtube channel Ah Han's po video. The fortune-telling aunt played by Ah Han in the original video called out when she called Jiutian Xuannv to land: "800 feet, 500 feet, landing!" Although such lines are quite similar to the landing procedure of a civil aircraft, the focus should be on the performance of the Taoist fairy who is said to have boundless magic power.

Since it has nothing to do with the original Jiutian Xuannv, has nothing to do with the normal landing procedures of civil aircraft, and does not match the flight speed of fighter jets, what are the points of observation and laughter?

The occasion is too public: what should the audience who will be hurt twice understand?

In 2019, Bonn used Zheng Nanrong (a social movement advocate) to self-immolate as a joke at Open Mic (Open Mic: an impromptu performance, usually used to test jokes and understand audience reactions and preferences), which was later criticized by netizens for sharing and spreading. .

Some people think that the great man who fought for freedom all his life should never be joked at any time, and some people think that Born is not sure if the public will pay for such a joke, so he went to Open Mic to test it. In this event, if there were no audience for the episode to be made public, it may not have developed into a stir.

And JIM's public posting on Facebook is an occasion where it is difficult to filter readers, especially Facebook's automatic push broadcast is quite developed and fast. In the face of hell stalks, there will definitely be people who find it funny and people who feel hurt, and these different ethnic groups do not necessarily exist in the absolute stratosphere. When such content is widely circulated, no one can determine it as a society. Whether the impact is positive or negative.

JIM said in "Boyin" that the world is hell: "We are clowns on the stage, and we must become the righteous party under the stage. We must spread the gospel and speak the right things."

So, is the Facebook fan page on stage or off stage? JIM's reply in the comment area "Can you be a little empathetic over there ㄍㄞ if it's not funny? The people on the plane won't and can't apologize to you" on stage or off stage?

The object bears the risk for you: the shelter of the Air Force, the service of civil aviation

Can children treat a mother who died in childbirth as a joke? Can a child taunt a mother who gave birth to be fat or depressed because of childbirth?

If such an assumption is not in line with social morals, at least basic respect must be given to the risks or unexpected tragedies that civil aviation pilots who serve the people and Air Force pilots who defend their homeland take for their jobs.

Enjoy comedy without hurting the innocent

I also appreciate talk shows and comedies, especially content that focuses on current affairs and social observation. On the one hand, it agrees that someone speaks for the people through the weight of their own words. I believe that different types of performances and creations have meanings, such as providing a way for people to escape and breathe under the pressure of reality, or to say what people usually dare not express because of public opinion.

I'm not sure what the motives and jokes of Mr. Cheng's post are. If he thinks the military/civilian plane crash is a joke, it's no problem to resonate with fellow fans and fans and enjoy the so-called humor on appropriate occasions. I just hope that while you are entertaining yourself, you will not hurt others, as we were taught since childhood: to enjoy freedom within a limited range, and not to hinder others.
