A graphical revolution in baseball...the next chapter for the KBO League
As the 2024 season of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) kicks off with a bang, the spotlight is shining on an innovative step that marks a new chapter in digital sports broadcasting. Kakao, through Daum, one of the largest portal sites in Korea, is bringing a new experience to baseball fans by introducing a graphical broadcasting service for all KBO games for the first time.
The graphical broadcasting service, or Live Match Tracker (LMT), is an innovative technology that graphically and intuitively displays the real-time game situation. The graphical representation of key game information such as pitching information and batting status enables fans who cannot watch video broadcasts to enjoy an immersive experience no matter where they are.
In addition to the graphical broadcast, the KBO Game Center on Daum Sports will also provide a variety of KBO league-related content such as text broadcast, game schedules and records, and the latest news, which will enhance the satisfaction of baseball fans.
Kakao Daum CIC has previously introduced graphical broadcasting, starting with overseas soccer game centers, and has since expanded its technology and services by applying graphical broadcasting to the 2023 Asian Cup and domestic professional soccer (K League). In the future, we are planning to apply graphic broadcasting to 스포츠토토 various sports events, including MLB, NBA, and KBL, so that sports fans can enjoy the games in more diverse ways.
In addition, KakaoTalk users can add a 'Baseball Bot' channel to receive real-time news, lineups, and scores of their favorite teams. Fans will also be able to immerse themselves in the game through the 'Excitement' service, which provides an overview of the game situation at a glance, and the ability to predict the game.
From the 2024 season, new information such as game result summaries and first-team registration and cancellation information will also be provided, making it an essential source of information for baseball fans.
The graphical broadcasting service and various additional features introduced by Kakao and Daum are expected to create a new broadcasting culture for the Korean Professional Baseball League and provide fans with a richer and more vivid game viewing experience.
