On February 18, 1942, the massacre of Singapore was launched, in which about 50,000 people died, which indirectly contributed to Singapore's independence from British rule, and no longer trusted Britain. The Japanese only admitted 5,000 people, but the Chinese community thought it was 100,000. After the Japanese invaders landed in British Malaya and slaughtered all the way, 100,000 are conservative estimates.
