Jeong Ho-young, It was Disappointing, But it was Fun
‘First PS’ Prepared like an Archery Representative, Jeong Ho-young “It was Disappointing, But it was Fun”
“I enjoyed the entire process, from confirming my PO qualification to preparing for spring volleyball to my first PS appearance.”
Professional volleyball women's middle blocker Jeong Ho-young (22, Jeong Kwan-jang) expressed both regret and joy as she recalled her first V-League postseason.
Jung Ho-young, who arrived in Indonesia with his colleagues at the invitation of the 'Sports Fund and Management Agency' (LPDUK) under the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, said in an interview with the joint press team on the 18th (local time).
"It was disappointing that we could not advance to the championship match, but we made it to the playoffs. 카지노사이트위키
“I enjoyed the entire process, from confirmation of advancement to spring volleyball preparation and stepping onto the postseason court for the first time,” he said.
Jeong Kwan-Jang jumped to third place with fierce momentum in the second half of the 2023-2024 season and entered the postseason stage for the first time in seven seasons.
Hoyoung Jeong, who entered the professional ranks in the 2019-2020 season, played his first individual spring volleyball.
However, Cheong Kwan Jang lost to Heungkuk Life Insurance in PO with 1 win and 2 losses.
Ho-young Jeong injured his knee in the first game of PO and was unable to play in the second and third games.
At that time, ahead of the third game, Ho-young Jeong strongly requested to Coach Hee-jin Ko that he could play, but Coach Ko also strongly dissuaded him.
Ho-young Jeong said, “I will do my best on the court in the championship game.
“At that time, not even the coach will be able to stop me,” he imagined himself on the court in the championship game, but Cheong Kwan-jang’s spring volleyball ended in the third PO game.
The result was disappointing, but the process was enjoyable.
Jeong Ho-young recalled, “The team atmosphere was at its peak with 7 consecutive wins at the end of the regular season, and my body was in good condition, so I prepared for the final match with the desire to enjoy my first spring volleyball as soon as possible.”
Ahead of the PO, Director Jeong also conducted 'amplifier training' to prepare for the enthusiastic cheering of Heungkuk Life Insurance fans.
Jeonggwanjang installed four large amplifiers around the training court and trained while playing the Heungkuk Life Insurance cheering song loudly.
The national archery team has begun to adapt to the cheering atmosphere as if they were training in a baseball stadium full of spectators.
The effect was clear.
Most of the CheongKwanJang players looked nervous because it was their first time in the postseason, but they did not feel intimidated or confused by the cheering crowd.
Jeong Ho-young said, I can't hear the crowd on the court, but it was definitely different during the PO."
The fans' cheering was really loud."
He continued, "But I was not shaken too much because I was well accustomed to the amplifier cheering sound.
In fact, the amplifier cheering (decibel) was loud."
“I felt like it was bigger and it helped me calm down.”
Is it because I was too excited?
Hoyoung Jeong suffered an unexpected injury in the first game of PO and was unable to fully enjoy her spring volleyball.
He said, "It was really fun preparing for the postseason.
My condition wasn't that bad, so I had high expectations.
I was excited because I felt like everything would go well, but I should have been careful at that time."
He added, "Sure enough, after the first game, I had bruises on my bones.
“I didn’t want it to end like this because it was my first spring volleyball, but I was disappointed,” he said.
Still, PO remained a good memory for Jeong Ho-young.
He said, “Now that I have experienced what spring volleyball is like, I don’t think I will be nervous anymore.”
He added, “Once I enjoyed the postseason atmosphere, I want to do it again, and I also have a desire to get on a bigger stage (championship game) this spring.”
“Even though the outcome of volleyball was disappointing, it was fun, and I think it was a good motivation for me, so I’m thinking positively about it,” he said with a bright smile.
Hoyoung Jeong’s season is not over yet.
After completing the friendly match schedule with the Indonesian All-Star team scheduled for the 20th, he will immediately join the national team and begin training for the 2024 International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Volleyball Nations League (VNL) to be held in May.
Ho-young Jeong said, "I think winning is the biggest medicine for our national team players right now.
The goal is to regain confidence and play a good game."
In addition, he also expressed his expectations for the new national team head coach, Coach Fernando Morales.
Ho-young Jeong said, "I met him once before coming to Indonesia, and he seems like a delicate and warm person.
He seems like a person with a solid power, so I'm looking forward to it."
