If you're interested in improving student well-being in your school, you've probably wondered about webinars on student well-being.

These sessions can help you understand how to improve the educational environment for students, which is an important component of success in today's college world. A recent webinar series by the PLAYA INFO DOS Center examined ways to improve student well-being amid a global pandemic. In the webinars, state representatives will explain their unique approaches to this problem and share lessons learned from the past year. Afterward, they will answer your questions.

Mindfulness Everyday

The benefits of incorporating mindfulness techniques in education are wide-ranging. Students may improve their focus, concentration, and general well-being through a simple three-week workshop. Mindfulness can also be useful in other contexts where students are interacting with other people, such as workplaces, family environments, and the community at large. Here are the three most significant benefits of incorporating mindfulness techniques in education. In addition to the broader benefits of reducing stress, mindfulness improves academic performance, and it can improve student well-being and life.

In addition to facilitating student well-being, mindfulness activities can provide a calming effect, particularly for students who may find their current environment challenging. Students may find it helpful to think back to happier times to cope with their current circumstances. In addition, mindfulness can be used to express positive emotions. For example, students can write down their thoughts while listening to music on headphones. Alternatively, students may be asked to complete a journal entry about an activity that makes them feel relaxed.

Her research interests revolve around four main areas: principal wellbeing and leadership challenges in cross-cultural contexts, student well-being, and leadership. Her webinars focus on K-12 educators, but her research can be beneficial for all educators.

Nicole Crawford

Dr. Nicole Crawford is a senior research fellow at NCSEHE, where she recently completed her Equity Fellowship. In her previous role, she explored the barriers to regional mature-age university student success through proactive interventions. Before her current role, she worked as a Lecturer in Pre-degree Programs at UTAS. Dr. Crawford's research interests (view here nickkmurray - Viewing Profile - rohitab.com - Forums) include equity and enabling education, and she has also co-founded UTAS's Social Inclusion Community of Practice and the National Association of Enabled Educators' Special Interest Group on Mental Health.

In this webcast, Dr. Crawford surveyed students on their overall health and wellbeing. In her report, she highlights the key factors that affect mental health and wellbeing, including interactions with peers, financial struggles, and access to the internet. The results show that nearly one-third of the participants did not receive any support from their university, and students who study part-time were especially affected. She recommends that educators consider the issue of mental health when developing courses for their students.
