The corresponding Tesla ordinary home charger uses AC 220V, the charging current is 40A, and the corresponding charging power is 8.8kW. A full 85kWh battery pack takes about 10 hours.

1) Ordinary household circuit
The average American home circuit is 120 volts and the current is 12 amps. 3) Efficient charging
Install high-power wall-mounted charging connectors in the garage or outdoors, with a voltage range of 20-250V, 60Hz, and a current regulation range of 40-100A. The Model S, which comes standard with a single charger, still takes 8 hours and 19 minutes to fully charge in these conditions. The optional built-in dual charger can be fully charged in just 4 hours and 09 minutes.
4) Public charging stations
The Model S can be charged at public charging stations using the J1772 connector. Some public charging stations are equipped with high amperage charging devices to facilitate fast charging of the Model S using dual built-in chargers.
