Instant gratification is a term that has entered our common vocabulary usage and is something that has been enabled in our society. Through channels such as online shopping or the instant gratification we get from social media, our brains are constantly bombarded with information and rewarded for the fast decision-making made through these channels. From a scientific standpoint, this produces a constant amount of dopamine in our system due to these behaviours and starts to alter how the brain's reward system works.
