North Carolina enacts new vape regulations to restrict vape store activity areas
The city government of Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA voted on Tuesday (March 19) to implement stricter regulations on vape companies.
Three months ago, the state reached a nearly $48 million deal with the vape company, Juul. The funds will be used for vaping prevention programs.
Vape stores stay away from minors.
The newly approved restrictions will prohibit future vape shops from operating in areas frequented by minors. These areas include schools and residential areas. Main areas include:
Vape, tobacco, and CBD businesses cannot be located within 500 feet of a residential zone.
Cannot be located within 1,500 feet of any school, daycare center, park, etc.
Cannot be located within 2,000 feet of another vape store.
While existing vape shops in Jacksonville will not be affected by the new rules, they are not exempt. If any unforeseen circumstances, such as a fire, affect an existing store and the location breaches the new restrictions, the store owner will need permission from the city to rebuild.
Vape manufacturer comments on the new regulation.
VPFIT, as a responsible vape manufacturer from China, thinks that this regulation is very good.
It is a responsible and positive step. These restrictions can protect minors from exposing to vaping products. By the way, it reinforces the commitment to age-restricted sales and helps reduce the risk of underage vaping.
For vape manufacturers, we can support such regulations by working with retailers. Also, we can work together to advocate for responsible sales practices. The vape industry is dedicate to promote a safe and responsible vaping environment and prioritizing the well-being of young individuals.
