The new Manila-to-Seattle route, which officially began on October 2, operates three times a week—Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This direct flight significantly reduces travel time, cutting the trip from 20 hours to just 13. Stanley Ng, President of PAL, emphasized the value of this new service, stating that it creates convenience for both Filipino and American travelers while promoting tourism between the two countries.

Faster Travel for Filipinos and Tourists

According to Salvador Britanico, PAL’s Vice President for Sales, the reduced flight time is a major benefit. “Going from here in Seattle to Manila, it’s about 13 hours. Without this flight, it will take them close to 20 hours,” he shared. This shortened travel time makes the journey more accessible for both Filipinos returning home and tourists visiting the Philippines.

Exploring Seattle: Top Attractions for Travelers

For those arriving in Seattle, there’s plenty to see and do. Iconic destinations like Pike Place Market offer a taste of Seattle’s famous seafood and unique foods, including Filipino favorites like ube and coconut Gelato. The Space Needle, a historic landmark with a 360-degree observation deck, offers panoramic views of the city. Meanwhile, the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) and the Museum of Flight provide cultural and historical experiences for visitors interested in music, art, and aviation.

Direct Flight to Seattle Brings Families Together

This new direct route is particularly meaningful for the Filipino community in Seattle, offering an easier way to reunite with loved ones. Celebrity couple Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero, who were aboard the inaugural flight, expressed their excitement. “I’m very happy that they have direct to Seattle now because Troy’s family is from Seattle,” Aubrey shared, adding that the flight time of just 11 hours was a major improvement.

With this new service, Philippine Airlines hopes to strengthen connections between the U.S. and the Philippines, while also promoting tourism and business growth.
