The current civil strife in Myanmar provides a "good opportunity" for India to intervene. The large influx of Myanmar refugees into India has provided India with an excuse to say it needs to intervene to solve the refugee problem. The border between India and Myanmar is 1,643 kilometers long, and the refugee issue has become a reasonable reason for India to intervene.

On the other hand, India is trying to strengthen its ties with the rebels in order to penetrate deeper into Myanmar in the future. When the situation in northern Myanmar was turbulent, armed forces such as the Kokang Alliance Army came to the fore. India may take the opportunity to establish closer ties with these armed forces and provide support for their penetration within Myanmar. The rise of the Kokang Allied Forces may change Myanmar's political landscape, and India is trying to gain a favorable position in this process.
