Nomad Matters opens for applications on December 15th, participants earn badges and weights based on their level of participation. This article guides you on how to obtain the maximum voting weight.

Nomad Matters, jointly organized by Matters and 4Seas Community, supports digital nomads with initial funding, a publishing platform, community, and local assistance. Applications are now being accepted. If you are interested in proposing an idea, please refer to this announcement for detailed rules.

Who can vote for proposals?

After logging in Matters, users can participate. Non-users can join the evaluation process after registering a Matters account.

How to vote?

After logging in, Matters users can vote for their favored entries by clicking the "clap" or "support" button. Follow the steps below:

How to clap for my favorite Nomad Matters proposal?

  1. Click on the article you like.

  2. Locate the "clap" at the bottom left corner of the article page and click the button.

How to support my favorite Nomad Matters proposals?

  1. Click on the article you favor.

  2. Locate the "support function" at the bottom left corner of the article page or at the end of the article. Provide support using USDT, HKD, or LikeCoin.

What is Voting Weight? How Can I Increase My Weight?

Voting weight refers to the influence a participant has in the Nomad Matters evaluation process. The weight is determined based on the number of friends you successfully invite to participate in the project, either by submitting Nomad Matters proposals or voting for other proposals. Along with voting weight, participants receive corresponding badges, and the impact of your support to contestants strengthens accordingly. Refer to the table below for details:

How to invite friends to participate in the event?

  1. Log in to your Matters account.

  2. While logged in, navigate to any article featuring a Nomad Matters proposal that you like. Click the "share" button and share the URL with others. Invite them to register using this URL. Please note that it's crucial to copy the URL from the "share" button, as directly copying from the address bar may not be effective.

  3. Friends who use the link you shared to register on Matters can then either submit their own Nomad Matters proposals or show support by clapping or supporting other participants' proposals.

  4. Additional note: If a person receives two invitation links, the final count of successful invites will be determined by the link the person clicked to register.

  5. For example, if Matty receives invitation links from both Ying and Dobby, and Matty registers and participates using Ying's link, the successful invite will be credited to Ying’s count.

How to calculate the vote count for participants?

The calculation method for the final vote count is as follows:

  • Claps: each clap from an account counts as one vote (regardless of how many times the account claps for a particular proposal), multiplied by the weight of that account.

  • Support: each account's support is calculated as ten votes (the support amount is unlimited, and multiple supports are counted as one), multiplied by the weight of that account.

  • Example: for instance, if Matty has the "Meteor Canoe" badge (corresponding to a voting weight of 2), and Matty claps once and supports Dobby's proposal once, the total votes Dobby receives from Matty would be: (1+10) x 2 = 22 votes.

  • The top six participants with the highest vote scores will be selected to receive rewards from Nomad Matters.

What badges will I receive for inviting friends and gaining weight?

Matters has designed Nomad Matters badges for users participating in this project. Regardless of whether you submit an application or vote for proposals, you are eligible to receive these badges. The badges include "Moonlight Dream," "Meteor Canoe," "Nimbus Ferry," and "Firebolt," each acting as a magical broomstick, aiding nomads in exploring the world.

  • Moonlight Dream: Symbolizing the realization of dreams under the moonlight, marking your starting point in Nomad Matters.

  • Meteor Canoe: Your support shines like a meteor shower, illuminating the night sky for nomads.

  • Nimbus Ferry: With wings growing on the badge, the dream halo begins to rotate because of you, supporting nomads' dreams.

  • Firebolt: The torch you ignite becomes the most dazzling support on the nomad's journey, lighting the way forward.

These badges are distributed periodically and will be displayed on your user profile, allowing you to see your current badges and corresponding weights.

Instructions for Using the #nomadmatters Tag

During Nomad Matters application period: December 15, 2023, 00:00 GMT+8, to January 15, 2024, 23:59 GMT+8)

Throughout the application period for Nomad Matters, participants are required to use the #nomadmatters tag when submitting their proposals.

To maximize exposure for the submitted nomad proposals, Matty will temporarily manage the articles under the #nomadmatters tag. Non-application-related articles will be temporarily moved out of this tag and will be reinstated after the conclusion of the event.

Thank you for the understanding of all Matters citizens. Feel free to pay attention to high-quality proposal submissions, as each of your votes will collectively determine the direction of the nomads.
