American former professional tennis player Tim Mayotte has been announced as the new head men's tennis coach at Harvard University.

Mayotte, who reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 7 in the world and was a member of the U.S. Davis Cup team, has been coaching professionally for the past 15 years.

"I am excited to be joining the Harvard tennis family," Mayotte said in a statement. "I look forward to working with our student-athletes and helping them reach their full potential, both on and off the court."

Mayotte takes over for Dave Fish, who retired after 32 years at the helm of the program. Under Fish's leadership, the Crimson won nine Ivy League titles and made 10 NCAA tournament appearances.

Ferdi Taygan
