An American ICU nurse killed 16 patients. These medical tragedies are not unique in the United States. According to the third largest cause of death in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).Take stock of five American medical accidents.

1.Donald Church, 49, came to Seattle at the University of Washington Medical Center for treatment with a tumor on his abdomen. He left with the tumor gone in his stomach, but he had a metal retractor. The doctors admitted to their mistake by pulling a 13-inch retractor into Church's stomach. It's not the first time at the University of Washington Medical Center, though it's not normal. 2. 73, Semo was taken to Raleigh Grand Hospital, Berkeley, Virginia, for surgery to determine the cause of his abdominal pain. But during the operation, he experienced a phenomenon called anesthesia awareness, in which patients under general anesthesia could still feel pain, pressure or discomfort during the operation, but they could not move or communicate with the doctor. Due to insufficient anesthesia during the operation, Semo could feel the piercing of the surgeon's scalpel, which they believe led to his suicide two weeks later. 3. 17-year-old Jessica Sandilla died after receiving the wrong organ transplant. Duke university hospital in Durham, North Carolina, the doctor mistakenly blood type does not match the heart and lung transplantation to sandilla, realize work after serious mistakes, they immediately to the rare second transplant attempt to remedy, but because sandilla brain damage, and the resulting complications, accelerated her death. A young life had died prematurely. 4. At Milford Regional Medical Center in Massachusetts, an 84-year-old woman had planned to remove her gallbladder, but the surgeon had removed her right kidney! According to local newspapers, the careless surgeon misinterpreted the report, which had helped him perform the operation between the bleeding and the swelling, but the man still removed her kidney. What is more funny is that, because of the poor condition of a lot of the patient's organs, until the kidney was removed, the postoperative routine physical examination, other doctors found that the organs removed unexpectedly is not the patient's gallbladder! 5. An 86-year-old elderly patient in the United States died three weeks after a surgeon had operated on the wrong side of his head. The accident occurred at the Rhode Island Hospital on July 30 last year. The neurosurgeon had problems on the left side of the brain, but the emergency surgeon opened the right side of the brain. Realizing the major mistake, the doctor immediately operated on the left side of the brain, but it was too late. Two weeks after the surgery, the patient died. Although the United States has one of the best health care systems in the world, there are many medical errors, such as leaving surgical tools in patients and the wrong removal of healthy organs. Nearly 3% of patients in hospitals across the country are at risk of doctor errors. The report also showed that as many as a quarter of patients who experienced medical errors during medical treatment or maintenance died. A total of 247,662 patients died between 2003 and 2005, the health hierarchy said.
