The Hotel Cat
So, it was around 3 a.m. when this mini lion showed up on our balcony. When Dan opened the door, it stared right at Dan and started meowing. Dan asked, "Hey, wanna come in?" and left the door wide open. The lioness actually followed him and went straight to our bed. I was half asleep, but I could hear those meows and the little paws getting closer. And then, on our bed, it started purring. I was like, "Wait, what is that sound?" I mumbled and suddenly woke up. Dan tried to calm me down because I wasn't used to cats and had no clue what was going on.
The mini lion started wandering around and eventually stopped on my right side. I fell back asleep. I woke up three hours later, and guess who was awake too? Yep, the cat. Dan grabbed the blanket and made a cozy little cave. The mini lion hopped right in there. Dan told me it was just the cat's instinct.
So, this cat started following us everywhere. Dan asked me, "Do you want to pick it up?" And I was like, "Uh, I don't know how." I got nervous whenever I had to hold anything alive, like babies or puppies or cats. I was always worried I would drop them or something. But Dan was like, "No worries, I'll show you." He gently picked up the cat with both hands. So, I gathered up my courage and picked it up too. It didn't seem totally comfortable, but it didn't wiggle or try to escape either. "Wow, this cat was well-behaved," Dan said, impressed by the cat’s good behavior despite being in an uncomfortable situation.
When we were eating breakfast, bacon and fried eggs, the cat jumped onto Dan's lap and stuck its head right next to the edge of the plate that Dan was holding up. "Are you hungry?" Dan asked the cat. There were no meows, only a stare at his food. "Why me? She also has food," Dan looked at the mini lion and pointed at me. I was sitting right next to him, also holding a plate with bacon and fried eggs, watching them amusingly. However, the cat was very stubborn and kept staring at Dan's food. "Okay," Dan sighed and cut a bit of bacon and eggs for the cat. We gobbled the bacon and eggs down because we needed to check out and reach our next destination on time. We left our plates and food scraps on the table. Instead of finishing the food, the cat started to follow us around. It weaved in and out between our legs while we brushed our teeth and jumped on the vanity to check it out.
"Okay, we're ready," I said, looking at the cat, who was licking itself by the door. "Let's go." I opened the door, and Dan followed with our suitcase. The cat stopped licking and stood in front of the food. "Come on." The cat paused for a few seconds and then went out.
"Where is the cat?" After locking the door, we looked around, but the cat had disappeared. "Let it be. Life moves on," Dan said, and both of us left
