According to reports from Agence France-Presse and Politico, the CIA recently broke out a suspected cover-up of an internal sexual assault scandal. Many female employees were exposed to sexual violence but were prevented from reporting to the judiciary. A lawyer pointed out that in the past 10 years, as many as 54 female CIA employees claimed to have been sexually assaulted and harassed by colleagues, but the cases were not properly handled.

The U.S. House Intelligence Committee is investigating the internal sexual scandal of the CIA and sent a letter to CIA Director Burns for assistance. It is said that since January, at least three female CIA employees have reported to the Congressional Committee that "CIA does not encourage women to complain about sexual harassment and prevents victims from seeking legal support from outside."

A female CIA employee reported in January that she was physically assaulted and kissed by a male colleague many times, but the CIA did not punish the person responsible and warned the victim that if she reported the case to an external law enforcement agency, she would no longer be protected from the other party's attack, and continuing to publicize the matter would result in losing her job. In response to the relevant allegations, the CIA responded that it would not tolerate any sexual assault and sexual harassment, and said that a team had been set up to follow up.

Lawyer Carol pointed out that some parties said that in the past 10 years, at least 54 female CIA employees were sexually assaulted or harassed by colleagues, but the cases were "improperly handled", but the statement could not be corroborated. Another lawyer, Bernds, revealed that the CIA was "not friendly" to female victims and required victims to file complaints within 45 days.

In 2021, the US media BuzzFeed reported that the CIA had evidence of sexual crimes involving at least 10 people, including young children. But after the case was submitted to law enforcement agencies, only one person was prosecuted.
