緬懷

紀念一個學者最好的方式恐怕是整理出他完完整整的學術生涯。文明能發展到今天，象極了一座十萬百萬千萬學人，花上十年百年千年，共同建造的通天巨塔。可惜人們誤解他們。其中不免有放浪形骸者，比起讀biography，大眾更樂意聽他們的「桃色緋聞」，顱內發生看維多利亞色情小說的化學反應，「I know it when I see it」往往內涵一笑，多可惡。

而他比學人更有意思，公共知識分子要關心社會公眾問題，魯迅早下好定義，但是面對政治，他只有遙遠的興趣，卻又不甘：我在哪裡，哪裡就是中國。多神氣。

時間的審判，充滿了冤假錯案。生命的尾聲，痛苦如同懷胎十月的循環。不過作為學人，學術的志業和熱情，能超越生和死，真正的烈士是知識分子。即迷茫「往何處去」，也堅定「有後來人」。人短暫的生命卻要是能將學術往前精進一點，也叫人歡天喜地。 他的過世像是個信息：前輩凋零，諸君努力。
