how to choose a camera

Choosing a camera is one of the most important decisions you'll make when starting your photography business. There are a lot of different factors to consider, but it all boils down to your preferred style. Which camera is best for you and your budget depends in large part on what kind of images you want to create.

There are a few things to think about when choosing the right camera to help you get that first shot, though:

Size and weight. The smaller the camera is, the less space it will take up in your bag or backpack all day long. That's one reason why many pros use mirrorless cameras like the Sony Alpha 7S II or Nikon D610 — they're small, lightweight, and don't require a heavy lens kit for basic shots.

Price. Some pros choose lower-priced cameras because they want an interchangeable lens (IL) model, which allows them more flexibility with their photography styles. That said, there are a lot of excellent point-and-shoot cameras that can quickly get the job done, even for those who aren't professional photographers. Even if you go with an IL camera, you'll want a zoom lens — the wider focal length will help you capture more of your product from different angles and give you more flexibility with your shots.
