Go Woo-seok struggling in Double A Lost with 2nd blown save of the season
Ko Woo-seok (25), who joined the San Diego Padres with the goal of entering the Major League Baseball (MLB), is having a rough start to the season.
To give him time to regain his standing, the club sent him to the San Antonio Missions, a minor league Double-A club, but he struggled even there.
Go Woo-seok appeared in the bottom of the 8th inning in a Double A game against the Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros) held at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas, on the 22nd (Korean time) with the team leading 1-0.
Go Woo-seok, who caused the first and third base crisis with no outs after hitting a double from the first batter, Ronaldo Espinosa, and a bunt infield hit from Jeremy Arrocho, even allowed Arrocho to steal second base.
He grounded out Quincy Hamilton, but gave up a 2-run comeback hit to Kennedy Corona.
Go Woo-seok, who continued to be shaken by stealing second base to Corona and giving up a walk to Miguel Palma, completed his mission only after turning Colin Barber into a double play.
The team lost 1-2, and Go Woo-seok suffered his second loss in Double A.
It was also his second blown save in two consecutive games following his previous appearance against Corpus Christi on the 19th.
Go Woo-seok's game performance on this day was 3 hits, 1 walk, and 2 runs in 1 inning, and his season performance was 6 games, 2 losses, 1 save, and an ERA of 6.75.
The detailed performance is still not good, with a hitting percentage of 0.343 and WHIP (on base allowed per inning) of 1.63.
However, he struck out 10 while allowing one walk, showing that his control is not that bad.
Go Woo-seok, who is going through a harsh adjustment period to American professional baseball, is expected to work hard to regain his position in Double A for the time being. 고스톱
