為了完成論文寫作，於是參與在清華磨課師MOOCS開設的「科技論文解密」課程。本文為學習過程中的筆記。此筆記為Connecting Ideas部分。

Old->New Information Flow

寫論文時需要General -> Specific，也會提出舊發現然後探討新發現（Old -> New）。

How to maintain flow in the writing?

Direct Repetition

這是最直接maintain flow的方式，直接指出重點字X，明確讓readers知道內容是與X有關。

This / These + summary word

e.g. This decrease shows ....

Connector

使用Linking words / phrases去connects ideas、連接句子之間的關係。

• Addition：表示在先前有提到的point以外加的point。包括：furthermore, in addition, moreover, in addition to
• Adversativity：用來表示現在想表達的內容是與之前的不同。包括：although, even through, despite of the fact, however, nevertheless, despite, in spite of
• Cause & effect：用來表示relationship between A and B。包括：because, since, therefore, as a result, consequently, hence, thus, because of, due to, as a result of
• Classification：包括：in other words, that is
• Contrast：用來做比較。包括：while, whereas, in contrast, however, on the other hand, conversely, unlike
• Illustration：包括：for example, for instance
• Intensification：強調某point。包括：on the contrary, as a matter of fact, in fact
