查特貝克 跟 拉克史密 如 謝曉峰跟燕十三的散步 ”Ballads for Two” by Chet Baker & Wolfgang Lackershmid reminds me a walk…

我最喜歡的古龍小說是《三少爺的劍》，在結局前，天下最強兩個劍客謝曉峰跟燕十三即將決戰，謝曉峰眼裡閃著笑意跟燕十三說：「天氣這麼好，風景這麼美，我們在臨死前，至少也該先享受一下人生。」，接著，這兩位就要拔劍決生死的人，同時舉步，在陽光下並肩散步。

My favorite novel of Gu Long is “Sword Master”. Before the end of the novel,there was a scenario: Two sword masters were going to start a sword duel.But before that,one of them said to another: ”Why don’t we take a walk before we starting to kill each other? “ And then,they agreed to take a walk under the lovely sunshine before the duel.

查特貝克跟拉克史密，當然不是要決生死的對頭，但這張唱片，小號跟鐵琴，在七首曲子間，達成一種「始終在決鬥邊緣游走」的和諧，就像謝曉峰跟燕十三的那場散步。

Chet Baker & Wolfgang Lackershmid weren’t enemies. But if you listened to “Ballads for Two” by Chet Baker & Wolfgang Lackershmid,you would think of “the walk before duel”.

當時的貝克，已不是那個長得像詹姆斯狄恩的帥哥，而是歷盡毒品毀壞、門牙被打斷的滄桑阿伯，而沃夫岡拉克史密，卻是旭日東升的鐵琴新秀，但兩人合奏裡沒有衝突、沒有競賽，只聽得出兩人都想要達成某種和諧。

Chet wasn’t handsome & energetic as the Chet Baker in 1950's.Wolfgang Lackershmid was so young then. But the album was recorded in a special harmony without any conflicts.

年輕時聽查特貝克，只聽他在1966年被打斷門牙前的作品，自以為是地相信在古典管弦樂團吹小號朋友的意見：「門牙被打斷，怎麼不會影響吹奏呢？整個口腔都要用到啊。」。

I used to abandon all Chet Baker’s works after 1966. And convinced my trumpeter friend told me Chet could never be the same Chet after that he was savagely beaten and broken front teeth.

年紀漸長，才慢慢了解真有天份的人，即使在人生旅途裡掙扎，天份還是會在那些掙扎裡透出光來，像被打斷門牙後的查特貝克、一臂飽受注射毒品摧殘仍能彈出動人音符的比爾伊文斯…。

As I got older,I understood that you could never erase all the talent of some people like Chet Baker,Bird or Bill Evans. Life could beat them brutally. But you can always see the light from them.

古龍在這場絕代劍決前寫到：「如果你真的已經能瞭解人生，你的悲傷就會少些，快樂就會多些。」。

Gu Long wrote in “Sword Master”: If you could fully understand the life,you would be happier & feel less sorrow.

這是比我更有慧根的老婆在日本買回的唱片，我們夫妻都很喜歡，而且，貓可以聽著這張唱片睡著。

This was a CD which bought by my wife from Japan. Both of us like it very much & our cat can fall in sleep in this CD’s music.
