Remasters, a battle royale mode, a new Mario Kart

In celebration of "Super Mario Bros."'s" 35th anniversary, Nintendo has brought gifts and party favors. A new Mario-starring battle royale game, numerous remastered mario games from the 3D era, and the Switch release of several older titles were all touted in an unexpected video announcement that the firm made early Thursday morning.

Most notably, Nintendo has announced "Super Mario 3D All Stars," a Switch port of the original "Super Mario Galaxy" as well as remastered versions of "Super Mario Sunshine," "Super Mario 64," and more. When the screen is turned off, Switch users can do more than simply play the new games—they can also listen to the music from them. Nintendo has stated that "Super Mario 3D All Stars" will be released on September 18 and will remain available until about March 31, 2021.

In addition, Nintendo unveiled a new Mario-themed battle royale game that will be available exclusively digitally. The game pits players against 35 other players in a "Super Mario Bros." setting. If you defeat an enemy in the level, their image will appear on the screens of other players. Like "Tetris 99" on the Switch, it's dynamic. The game will be available to play until March 31, 2021, after launching on October 1 for Nintendo Switch Online users.
