What does it mean to be a digital nomad?
For me, it means liberation.
Regarding the paradigm of life, I have switched several kinds.
When I was working in Beijing, I was an ordinary office worker, living a leisurely life, but after a few years, boredom invaded me, and I wanted to go to a wider world and find more possibilities.
When I was cycling in Southeast Asia, I was a long-distance traveler, from one place to another, from being excited to explore freely, to being tired and depressed, the long-distance travel for several months is a very beautiful and precious memory in my life. But it also feels unsustainable.
When I started my business overseas, I was an entrepreneur, trying to achieve the dual freedom of time and geography by establishing a business system, but due to the impact of the epidemic, neither time nor geography could be free.
When I was working from home at home, I carefully arranged the house and felt that I could settle down, but the weak connection with the outside world made my life lonely and boring.
Until I came to Dali and integrated into the digital nomad community, I discovered a new paradigm of life.
At a price much lower than that of a big city, live in a co-living community or rent a yard with friends, get up in the morning and have brunch before starting to work remotely. After work, the evening is the time when the day's light level is the most abundant, so I went to Erhai Lake to watch the sunset. If you want to go to Cangshan to pick mushrooms or explore the surrounding areas, you can leave as soon as you arrange your work, without having to consider the working day, and you can also avoid the crowded crowds during holidays.
Not to mention, Dali is an experimental field where various cutting-edge things are happening. The Watmao Summer and the Hackathon have brought fresh blood of Web3 to Dali, where people with a common understanding collide with various ideas and new projects. Local communities launch various activities every day, about ecological farming, vegetarianism, healing body and mind, etc. You can always find interesting communities, and life is healthy and colorful.
I found that apart from going to work, traveling, starting a business, and SOHO, the digital nomad lifestyle allowed me to find a happier balance.
In the past, I exchanged time and freedom for money, and then exchanged high cost for a comfortable environment, which has nothing to do with me.
Some people live a peaceful life without a fixed place, while others live in a mansion and flee all their lives.
My experience can be said to be a true portrayal of this sentence.
Looking for self-exit, aunts can also be digital nomads
There is an aunt named Su Min. Before that, she was the most common traditional housewife.
For the children and grandchildren, for the unfortunate marriage, he has devoted most of his life to the heavy housework.
After enduring a depressive and heavy family life for more than 30 years, I fell out of depression.
By chance, she learned on the Internet that there is also a self-driving tour. After that, she learned how to camp outdoors by learning video shooting, editing and live broadcasting, and also worked in a supermarket to save money to buy a car.
After two years of preparation, she went on the road, making videos and live broadcasts while traveling. "I used to be a wife, a mother, and a grandmother," Su Min said. "I'm going out this time, I want to find myself."
Her leaving is something that many people want to do but dare not do, and it resonates with many people. Through self-media, she has become a travel blogger with over a million fans, made headlines in major news, and established her own personal brand.
This is the digital nomad. By acquiring a skill, he can realize the freedom of time and geography, and liberate himself from the boring and repetitive daily life .
MINDSET's innovation, encrypted thoughts ✖️ Life of nomads
Rural aunts can also be digital nomads, but many young people with better conditions dare not.
I know a programmer, and after seeing my life where I don’t go to work and only work, he asked me: Why can you be so chic and play wherever you want?
I was at a loss for words for a while, because in my eyes, she is rich in finances and has excellent skills. The whole world should be her playground .
What is blocking the pace of going out?
Homeless people need skills, money, and more importantly, a kind of mindset.
If the birth of the Internet has created remote work that can be done with only a computer, then the birth of encryption technology and even the rise of Web3 will allow more people to realize the freedom of remote work.
Decentralized encryption trends✖️The lifestyle of digital nomads is a natural combination. For me, it is the multiple liberation of work + economy + thinking + geography.
Hope to meet more and more crypto nomads on the road, crypto nomad buidl together.
