Chapter 1 The next stop, the pilgrimage road

family revolution

"Does anyone know why Xiaoji only attended the class once and never showed up again?" This was a certain class in college at that time. The teacher found that I only appeared in the class once and disappeared after that, so he asked classmates under the stage.

"Teacher, she went to find herself!" Xiaoyi, the roommate who was closest to her at the time, raised her hand and answered. The teacher was speechless and did not ask any further questions.

Then the scene switches to my Yunlin hometown.

"You go! Treat me like I don't have your daughter!" Dad said to me, I had a temper as tough as his, so I really took a leave of absence from school.

Then, there was a family revolution that lasted for two years. Every time I came home, I either quarreled with my father or was scolded by my mother. So I chose not to go home. After I dropped out of school, I began to work and wander around Taiwan. I regularly posted a log on Facebook, because my parents are also my Facebook friends. Part of my writing is mainly for them to read, just to prove that Show them that I can do a lot of things by myself, instead of going outside to be a "seven escape girl", but to explore myself through traveling and experiencing the world, I hope they can understand slowly. I went to work for lodging everywhere, hitchhiked, cycled around the island, and sold postcards I took along the way. At the same time, I imagined that I could become a writer Sanmao, relying on the ability of writing, wandering the world, maximizing loneliness, and losing myself to completeness It is an unfamiliar place, no one knows me, no one can speak Chinese, and everything is a strange country. It is such an exciting and exciting thing. I have been waiting for this day for a long time. Although there is still a stone in my heart that I can't put down, because I haven't received the support of my family.

Later, I got an opportunity to work in a small restaurant in my hometown, because it was a very special position, and the boss became my noble person. She admired me and encouraged me, so I became a store manager from a working student all the way. Saved enough travel expenses, it was the second year of school leave.

And as long as I'm on vacation, I'll go to the library to collect information and books about planning adventures. One day I found a book about a Korean girl who went on a pilgrimage to Spain, a story said to be the most beautiful in the world. The road is at least 700 kilometers long. That road is also the only road listed as a world heritage site. In fact, the world heritage sites are basically buildings, and there are very few roads, but this is a thousand-year-old road. The Catholic pilgrimage route, although I am not a Catholic, is enough to convince me of its historical and cultural implications. The book also mentions a movie <The Way>, which was not released in Taiwan but was translated as the Pilgrimage Way. I found the video on the Internet and watched it three times in total. The third time I didn't know why, an emotion surged up, and I suddenly cried, "This is it! I'm going to go this way!". That night, I booked a ticket to take off next month.

Before this, I didn't believe I could carry a hiking bag taller than me and hike to far-flung lands, let alone 900 kilometers. One of the people I admired most at the time was the hiker who packed all his belongings in a big mountaineering bag and spanned several countries. I thought they were gods at all. Is it possible for me to do it? I only have one left. months to prepare and conduct pre-trip training. I decided to hike from my hometown Yunlin to Taichung with a hiking bag on my back, but I didn't expect that before I got to Changhua, my shoulders were sore that I wanted to give up, "Maybe I should learn from those who walk around the island with a vegetable basket. Travelers." This sudden thought led me to walk into the hardware store and buy a grocery cart to put the mountaineering bag on and tow it. As a result, I actually arrived in Taichung smoothly.

So insanely I decided to set out with a haul bag, plus a small backpack, as for what to bring on the road?

In addition to the requisite passport, I stuffed in my backpack:

A Spanish learning book for beginners (super practical)

A document package (required)

A diary (required)

A steel cup (super practical)

An electric spoon (super practical)

A sleeping bag (required)

Two sets of perspiration-wicking change clothes (required)

3 pairs of five-finger socks (required to prevent friction and blisters)

Two pairs of sponge earplugs (super practical)

a hat

A thick coat (required, the temperature difference between morning and night in Spain is large)

A micro monocular (best not to bring it, it will only increase the weight, if you can take pictures with a mobile phone)

A coin purse (required)

a pencil case

A bottle of thermos (or kettle)

A bag of first aid kits (OK jump, needle and thread, green essential oil, alcohol, saline)

A set of environmentally friendly chopsticks (super practical)

A lock and lock fresh-keeping box (super practical)

A new pair of hiking shoes (please wear the old ones, because the texture of the new ones is too hard and easy to rub against long blisters)

A pair of walking sandals my mother gave me (must have)

A mobile phone that cannot make calls and only has a way to connect to wifi (super practical)

There are only a few days left until the day of departure. At the same time, I quickly learned a few words of Spanish that I couldn’t remember, and went on a road I hadn’t even heard of before. At that time, few people in Taiwan had traveled. , so I couldn't find any information in Chinese, but I thought that I would know if I went anyway! (Although I didn't expect the tragedy to happen at the beginning)
