Is it magic or miracles? — 10 key points of magic, everyone can become a magician
10 Highlights from Blavatsky's Unveiling of Isis
1. There is no such thing as a "miracle".
The results of everything that happens are governed by eternal, immutable, continuously operating laws. Dr. Carpenter - a man of great knowledge but in fact ignorant - believes that "miracles" are contrary to "accepted laws of nature" and should not occur. However, in fact, it is these forces other than the "recognized laws of nature" that produce the so-called "miracles". Many people, like Dr. Carpenter, ignore the fact that the laws by which "miracles" work were "known" laws in the past, but are now unknown to science.
2. Nature is Trinity.
There is a visible, objective nature ; there is also an invisible, inner, dynamic nature . The latter corresponds exactly to the former, and is its template and life principle. Above these two is the Spirit , the source of all power: eternal and indestructible. The first two belong to the lower level and will change constantly; while the "spirit" belongs to the higher level and will never change.
3. Man is also Trinity.
Man has his objective body and his living astral body (or soul) , the "true man"; and both are looked after and illuminated by the third, the "ruler," the immortal spirit . When the "real man" successfully merges with the latter, he becomes an immortal entity.
4. Magic, as a science, is the realization of these principles.
Magic is also the omniscience and omnipotence of the spirit acquired by the soul while it is still in the body, and the knowledge of the method of controlling the forces of nature. Magic as an art is the practice and application of this knowledge.
5. Misuse of arcane knowledge is witchcraft; beneficial use is true magic or wisdom.
6. A medium is the opposite of a magician.
The psychic abilities used by psychics are "passive" tools to receive external influences; while magicians are "active" to control themselves and all low-level magical effects.
7. All things past, present or future are recorded on the "Astral Light", or on the slate of the invisible universe. The enlightened magician can know everything that has been known in the past, or can be known in the future, through his own spiritual vision.
8. Different human races also differ in their spiritual gifts, like skin color, stature, or any other physical appearance; in some races, many are born with psychic vision, and in others, psychic abilities. Some of them are addicted to witchcraft and pass down the secret methods they practice from generation to generation, resulting in all kinds of supernatural phenomena.
9. In one of the stages of casting magic, there is a voluntary and conscious separation of the inner person (the astral body) from the outer person (the physical body).
In the case of some mediums, this kind of detachment occurs. But this is unconscious and involuntary. For a medium, the body will more or less "rigid" at such times; but for a magician, his astral body leaves without being noticed. Because his physical senses are alert, he appears to be only absent-minded - some call it "trance."
For the astral body that travels around, neither time nor space presents an obstacle. Thoroughly versed in the occult sciences, the Tamil can make himself (that is, his physical body) appear to disappear, or take any shape he chooses. He can make his astral body manifest, and he can make it take on kaleidoscopic appearances. In both cases, however, these results were actually achieved by psychedelic senses of all witnesses. The hallucination was so real that these witnesses were willing to risk their lives claiming that what he saw was the truth. And it was just a picture of them in their own minds, imprinted in their consciousness by the overwhelming will of the hypnotized.
But while the astral body can go anywhere, penetrate any obstacle, and be seen no matter how far it is from the body, the movement of the body relies on ordinary means of transportation. Flesh can be levitated under certain magnetic conditions, but to move from one place to another can only be done in the most ordinary way. Therefore, we do not believe any stories of psychic bodies flying in the air, because that would be a "miracle" that we reject. Inorganic matter can, under certain circumstances or conditions, be broken down, passed through walls and reassembled, but living organisms absolutely cannot.
Swedenborg scholars believe, and mystical science also tells us that the situation where the soul leaves the body often happens, and we encounter such "living corpses" every day under various living conditions. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including excessive fright, sadness, despair, flare-ups, or excessive emotionality. These are all possible. Absent corpses may be entered and inhabited by a professional wizard using his astral body. It is also possible to be possessed by a necromancer (an incorporeal human soul), or in very rare cases, a genie. Of course, the White Mage has the same ability, but unless he is accomplishing some very special and great goals, he would never want to occupy an unclean body to contaminate himself. And for a lunatic, his astral body is semi-paralyzed, bewildered, and subject to the influence of any kind of spirit body that passes by; or it is possible that his soul is gone forever, and the body is overrun by some vampire-like spirit body that is about to disintegrate. Occupy and cling desperately to the flesh. They hope to enjoy more sensual pleasure in a short period of time through this temporary method.
10. The cornerstone of magic is the intimate practice and knowledge of magnetism and electricity, their properties, connections and potencies.
In particular, familiarity with their impact on the animal kingdom and humans is required. Others, like minerals, also have mysterious properties, like gypsum. All magicians must know these properties, and the "science" that demands accuracy today is ignorant of them. Plants have similarly mysterious properties, and they are wonderful. The secrets of dreams and magical herbs have lost their place in European science and are not understood. With a few exceptions, such as opium and marijuana. However, the psychiatric effects of these herbs in humans can also be considered to be a phenomenon of temporary mental disorders. The women of Thessaly and Epirus, priestesses of the Sabazius ritual, did not lose their secrets with the decline of their holy places. They are still preserved, and those who know the properties of Soma also know the properties of other plants.
Summarize
To sum it up in a few words: magic is spiritual wisdom, and nature is the magician's material ally, pupil and servant. One same principle of life pervades all things, and this can be controlled by a well-established human will. Magicians can stimulate the natural workings of plants and animals to a supernatural degree. In doing so, it is not hindering nature, but helping to speed it up, giving it more intense conditions for life.
The magician can control the senses and change the physical and astral bodies of other non-practitioners; he can also govern and command the spirit bodies of various elves according to his own choice. He cannot control the immortal spirit of any human being, living or dead; for the human spirit is the spark of the divine essence and is not subject to any external power.
