Should we redefine "effectiveness"?
No matter what we do, we always care about the results, and the quality of the results will greatly affect our motivation to do things, and even affect whether we want to start doing something or whether we want to continue.
Whether the effect is good or not, for us, it is whether we get the corresponding results after working hard. The effect is also used by us to judge whether our efforts are effective or not. If not, should we try again with the same method? Or just switch to another method.
Occasionally, the results will exceed our efforts, and the results are particularly good, but most of the time, the results are usually mediocre, and often even lower than our expectations.
If you are also running a self-media, you probably feel the same way. The effect is an inseparable topic for every creator.
Every day I think about how to improve the effectiveness. Every post is an experiment of effectiveness. It is a big problem and a necessary exercise. After all, the effectiveness can tell us a lot of things, and it can also let us know that these works are in the eyes of readers. How to improve.
However, the results we think are often superficial. For example, the effectiveness of a post usually refers to the number of likes a post gets, the number of retweets, and the number of favorites, how many comments, and how many comments the post has. interaction rate.
But can these really fully represent the effectiveness of the post? Can it really explain what kind of existence this post has in the minds of readers?
Many times, I also feel ups and downs because of the results of these data. When the results continue to be bad, I feel very tired. I even don’t want to continue the business, and I don’t have the heart to write articles.
However, not long ago, I saw the experience of my comrade-in-arms who pursued the goal with me. Although the efforts did not pay off, I saw another kind of reward in the unrewarded efforts. Maybe not the kind of reward he originally wanted, but he His efforts were rewarded differently than he expected.
It made me wonder if we can look at outcomes differently. There are too many efforts to go back and forth in vain after we give it away, but does this really mean that the results are not good?
Too often we take the failure to achieve the desired outcome as if there is no reward, but we do achieve something that is not what we originally wanted or expected.
There are a lot of results that we can't see, they don't show up in the data, but they do exist.
It’s like every time when my text account is not very effective, I always feel that my work is very poor. It seems that readers are not interested in my work. Before, there were often readers leaving messages, but suddenly there was no response at all. Occasionally Want to have more interaction with readers, but not as enthusiastic as before.
But every time I mention the poor performance on the text account, or occasionally ask readers what they think in a different way, I get a lot of unexpected feedback. Last month, I was surprised because of an anonymous question. Many of the discoveries have been supporting my readers.
These results, which are usually not visible from the data, are the inspiration, inspiration, and influence that those works give readers. Most readers are accustomed to diving, and rarely tell the creators their views directly. Even if they like it, they rarely say it explicitly, but the support and the impact of the work on them are more meaningful results than the amount of data.
Therefore, the results are not just the results on the surface. Maybe everyone has different perceptions of the results, but everyone hopes that their efforts will be fruitful.
Compared with the visible results or the results we expect, we should also put the hidden results into the evaluation of the effectiveness, and we should be able to see our results better and move forward better.
