My family came to Vancouver to work and study through the Hong Kong Immigration Program. I will accompany them to come here for a period of time to help establish the basic necessities of the new immigrant family. I will stay for a month.

Today is the seventh day of landing.

This evening, I still need to continue to do support work for the Hong Kong company. I open Matters, which I haven't seen for a long time, and I am very moved when I see the work notes I wrote more than a year ago. . .

This year, both me and the world have undergone earth-shaking changes. The arrival of covid19, like an alien monster, has messed up the earth. It just so happened that my occupation was the virus inspection work to fight against this, so I have been busy from 2020 to 2021, working almost every day, without real rest, and left my job.

Now I follow my family to this city, which is known as the most livable city in the world. It is both unfamiliar and familiar, because we have watched the videos here countless times and heard the introduction of many friends. We are all excited and curious as a family.

Although it is the company's annual leave, but unfortunately still need to support the work of colleagues online during working hours in Hong Kong every day, this is in exchange for two years of annual leave accumulated and used together. So every day from 6:00 pm to 3:00 am the next day is my working time next to the computer, and then my family is also jet lag, and I fall asleep next night. . .

It has been seven days, and my spirits are not very good during the day. Due to jet lag and work at night, I have a tachycardia, and I called 911 for emergency services. Since I don’t have a medical insurance card (actually, it will take about 60 days to take effect) , you need to buy travel insurance in advance to pay for this medical emergency service. It took five hours before and after to do an electrocardiogram, blood draw, and cvovid19 examination, which cost 1,606 yuan, Canadian dollars.

Experiencing Canada's emergency medical services and the high cost has taught me the importance of good health and the protection of medical benefits in Canada to ordinary people.

I have no choice but to adjust my schedule, sleep more during the day, and take time to rest at night. Otherwise my body would still protest.

But when I came here for vacation, my original intention was to accompany my family and help them meet the living needs of the new immigrants. Now it is actually dragging them down, and I feel a little uncomfortable. . . .

Work and life are always full of contradictions and new challenges. I have been working at home like this for a long time in Hong Kong, and I have adapted very well, but here, I need to re-adapt and adjust each other's different schedules with my family. . And use your spare time to try to help your family complete some basic life equipment online, such as shopping, such as searching for useful information.

In short, in the future, I still need to go back to Hong Kong, and I need to support each other's family both materially and spiritually. This is a new challenge for me, who is approaching 50.

Come on. . . . .
