让『英文文法』更好懂: 去动词化- V-ing 动名词篇(之二)

英文的单一句子里只能出现一个动词, 其他具有动作意思的字词必须被"去动词化" 使其不再是动词, 去动词化后的字词会变成以下 四种型态:

(动名词V-ing) (不定词to +原V) (现在分词V-ing) (过去分词V-en)

此篇将介绍去动词化后变成(动名词V-ing)的情况:

情况A] 以下这些动词的受词经常会是动名词

enjoy喜爱/享受, mind介意, practice练习, finish完成, avoid避免, admit承认,

deny否认, imagine想像, consider考虑, risk冒险, appreciate感激, anticipate期望,

suggest/recommend建议, keep/go on继续, discuss讨论, miss想念, quit戒, postpone延迟

1. She enjoys being with him . 他喜欢跟他在一起。
2. Would you mind answering the door for me ? 你介意替我应门吗?
3. practiced swimming again and again before the contest. 那选手对在比赛之前怜惜由
4. Your sister already finished doing her homework . 你的姊姊已经做完她的功课了。
5. We all should avoid being rude to others . 我们都应该避免待人无礼。
6. The suspect did not admit killing the victim . 那个嫌疑犯不承认杀害受害者。
7. They did not deny going steady with each other. 他们不否认互相稳定交往。
8. I cannot imagine living like that . 我无法想像那样生活。
9. Will you consider joining this game ? 你会考虑参加这个比赛吗?
10. The surgery will risk losing her child . 这个手术将可能危害到胎儿的生命。

14. I will keep/go on reading this novel. 我会继续读这本小说。
15. They want to discuss running a business with us . 他们想跟我们讨论开公司。
16. He misses being single . 他怀念单身。
17. You should quit smoking for your health. 为了健康你应该戒烟。
18. The government will postpone passing the new law due to the pandemic. 碍于疫情, 政府将延迟新法案的通过。

情况B] 动词go 及come 意指进行某件事/某活动, 其受词经常会是动名词

go进行..活动

come移动..做某事

1. Let's go hiking this weekend. 咱们周末去健行。
2. I seldom go shopping recently. 我最近很少去逛街。
3. The kid came running with smile. 这孩子带着微笑跑来了。

情况C] 以下这些动词片语的受词经常会是动名词

give up放弃, feel like想要/感觉像, end up结果成为, devote to专心致力于/献身于

insist on坚持, embark on着手/从事, look forward to期待, can't help忍不住

1. Do not give up chasing your dream . 别放弃追逐你的梦想。
2. I feel like eating out tonight. 我今晚想出去吃饭。
3. He will end up begging on the street. 他将会沦落到在街上乞讨。
