Democracy and freedom have never been gifts that fell from the sky. The process of Taiwan's democratization was also stained with the blood of many democracy fighters. Although they have passed away, their spirit of giving in to death cannot be forgotten and will not be forgotten. Hong Kong people and many young people in Hong Kong are just like many democratic predecessors, undead fighters.

When I saw this proposition, I felt an impulse in my heart. I felt that there was a lot to say for a while, but after thinking about it carefully, I didn't seem to know what to say.

Taiwan and Hong Kong have always had an inexplicable brotherhood (maybe it’s my own misunderstanding?) In short, compared to Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan tend to be closer to each other... I don’t really want to say that they are sympathetic to each other. It's kind of like sympathy.

After all, we were threatened and harassed by the same neighbors.

Only since 2019, in Hong Kong, this harassment has turned into aggression, and this aggression is domestic and political. Like Xinjiang and Tibet, the international community can only express concern with condemnation several times, but in fact there is nothing to do. Living in Taiwan, I grew up enjoying democracy and freedom, and I was shocked when I saw articles of news and photos! Shocked and terrified.

I started to think about a question that I had never thought about, which is: If it were me, would I be willing to go to the street?

To be honest, I still can't answer this question with certainty today. I love my country and I want to protect her, but at the same time I am afraid of the country's blatant violence.

After the anti-extradition movement, through news reports and Facebook, I got to know a few young people who bravely stood up for Hong Kong's democracy. Zhou Ting, Huang Zhifeng, and Lin Langyan, who are known as the three sons of Hong Kong, were sentenced to prison on December 2, 2020 (Zhou Ting and Lin Langyan have been released from prison). I know that the anti-extradition movement still has many, many young people who have not been paid attention to, who have been arrested and disappeared. Their courage to sacrifice for democracy and freedom has been written in the poetry of history.
