This article is some thoughts on "personal brand", hoping to inspire you who can't find your own positioning and direction in the workplace and life.

When it comes to "personal brand" , many people may think of some celebrities or well-known youtuber. Or maybe the word "brand" reminds you of some symbols in the business world. But in fact, "personal brand" is a concept worth thinking about. In this chaotic era where the boundaries between occupations are becoming more and more blurred, thinking about how you can build your own "personal brand" will be of great value to your career development.

I don't think "personal branding" is a way for you to market yourself. Rather, it is a point of focus for thinking about "what am I worth to the world" . Share a few perspectives on how I think about "personal branding":

1. "Personal brand" is the output mode of your contact with the world

Any communication, email, or task submission in work life is an output of your "personal brand" . What kind of connection you want to have with the world, what kind of output will be made. Many people's response patterns are inertial, stimulus-response rather than stimulus-processing-choice-action.

"Personal brand" is a set of values and ways of doing things that are deeply rooted in your heart. It can help you go through the process of "internal processing" when you receive external stimuli, so as to make you aware of your "optional" , so as to make a choice and then make an "action". The advantage of doing this is:

• You can have a "non-inertia" response to any event that triggers it. This approach gives you "choice" rather than "passive/forced response".

  • Through the output of different touchpoints, you can establish how you connect with the world, and you can also find your place. Remember, every aspect of you is a part of you.

2. The process of building a "personal brand"

2.1 First of all, you need to explore your core values, your values, which build the "world".

The "world" you live in depends entirely on what "values" you hold within you.

Some people say it's wrong. I clearly see that rich people are "greedy", but I myself are "philanthropic". Obviously "the world" is contrary to my values. Isn't this an obvious contradiction?

The loophole in this kind of thinking is that when you say "greedy" without scientific, logical and verifiable arguments, this is "a feeling". And when you say that you are "philanthropic", it is also "a feeling". What is a feeling, a feeling is an impression, an emotion, and a trend of subjective choice.

Since it’s all feelings and it’s your subjective choice, you can also choose to believe that rich people are charitable, and you are also charitable.

So if you agree with the above point of view, you know why your own "core values" are so important because they shape how you perceive and feel about the world.

2.2 Continuously dismantling, verifying, and consolidating one’s own values and behavioral patterns of response

Repeated information is an essential element in shaping an idea. Let’s go back to the example of the rich man above (sorry, I prefer to use the rich man as an example, because they are too miserable to be misunderstood). If we have access to real rich people, such as your boss, you think he is rich, right? If you have the opportunity to discover, with a curious perspective, how he achieved his current socioeconomic status step by step, I think you will have a more comprehensive and objective understanding of the "rich man".

In this open, curious, and understanding behavior model, you need to constantly revise your own thinking modes that lack logic and verification, and disassemble your own values to a very detailed level, this "detail" When it reacts, it becomes a behavioral pattern. Why does it have to be very thin? Because if your values cannot be "grounded", it is just a fantasy, and you will be depressed if you dream too much. Because fantasy is equivalent to constantly verifying their "incompetence".

I believe that everyone's values are good, but few people "practice" what they think "good" looks like. Most people's values remain at a very "coarse" level. Family harmony, winners in life, lying flat...

If you were given a chance to do a 30-second advertisement on the entire Internet, what would you spread to the world?

Treat "self" as a brand. Personal brand is in everyday life.

May you become a better version of yourself and gain peace and love.
