Louis Creed (played by Dale Mickief) is transferred to a small town hospital in Maine.

With his wife Rachel (Denise Crosby)

Daughter Ellie (Brazil Bairdal) and son Gage moved here from Chicago.

The house has a large independent yard but is close to the main road,

Fuel tankers galloped past this road day and night, killing many pet cats and dogs.

On the first day of moving to a new home, Gage chased Georgie the cat to the side of the road and was almost hit by a fuel tanker.

Fortunately, neighbor Jed Clendau (played by Fred Gwynne) rescued Gage in time.

Jed told Louis and his wife to watch out for the tankers on this road.

Later, I took their family of three to see the pet cemetery leading to the path behind their house.

There are buried cats and dogs that have died on the road over the years.

Farther on the other side is the ancient Mikmaker Indian cemetery, long abandoned and best kept out of reach.

Louis reported to the hospital on the first day,

A seriously injured patient, Posca, was sent to the emergency room, but he was declared dead despite all efforts to rescue him.

Louis seemed to see Posca talking to him,

He said that in gratitude for his rescue, he would be prevented from approaching the ghost.

Posca's soul appears in Louis's dream or in the mirror,

Warn him not to go near the Mickmaker Indian cemetery, to stay away from the ghosts, and make him schizophrenic.

Rachel took her two children back to Chicago to spend Christmas with her parents.

Father-in-law always hated Louis, he stayed at home with the cat George, and didn't follow him to make fun of himself.

Crying there's a good ghost named Posca saying that Daddy is doing something dangerous and you have to stop him quickly.

Rachel was so upset by her crying that she couldn't do anything about it. No one answered the phone. She quickly booked a flight back to Maine.

She went first to Jed's house, and saw him dead,

The dead and resurrected Gage became like a ghost baby Chaji, holding his father's scalpel,

Cut Jed's wrists and throats, stabbed his mother in his arms, and killed her.

Louis, who woke up in a coma all day, looked at the scattered small footprints in the house and knew that Gage had come back alive.

Knowing that the scalpel was missing, he rushed to Jed's house to see two corpses, and his legs were weak.
