[Sister MURMUR] The relationship between South Korea's "Shin Nara Record Shop" and cults
For fans who are chasing Korean idols in Taiwan, in addition to purchasing imported albums in domestic record stores, looking for purchasing agents, and ordering on Korean shopping websites and Korean record stores, it is also an option. Among them, "Synnara (신나라, Synnara) Record Store" is included in the major Korean music charts "Gaon Chart" (commonly known as "G Chart") and "Hanteo Chart" (commonly known as "H Chart") due to its affordable price and sales. Idol signing events will also be held, which is a channel for many overseas fans to choose to buy albums. However, Shinnara Records is actually linked to a Korean cult.
Kim Ki-soon (김기순), the president of Shinnara Records, is also the leader of the Korean cult organization "Children's Paradise (아가동산)." Kim Ki-soon was originally a member of the disbanded cult organization "Joo Hyun Church (주현교회)". The Joo Hyun Church was regarded as a cult heresy because it made members dance naked and beat members. Joo Hyun Church disbanded. After that, Kim Kishun, one of the believers, established a new cult organization "Children's Paradise" in 1982. Many members of the Joo Hyun Church who were originally from the Joo Hyun Church lost their original religious support and defected to the Children's Paradise.
Xin Nara Records was also established in the same year. Kim Ki-soon squeezed the believers on the farm in Children's Paradise, and the proceeds made it possible for Shinnara Records to sell records at low prices, attracting consumers to buy them, and thus creating greater business opportunities.
Everyone calls 신나라 "Shin Nara", which is actually a transliteration, while the free translation means "God's Kingdom". (노래, 춤, 웃음의나라신나라)" Whether it is a religious ceremony at Joo Hyun Church or Children's Paradise, believers will dance around the leader.
And the "children" that Children's Paradise calls are not real children. Kim Ki-soon replaced the gods believed by ordinary religions with "3-year-old child gods", and claimed to be the spokesman of gods, dressed himself up quite gorgeously, and made believers dance around him. He also maintains that because he is a child, no matter what he does or says, he will not violate the law.
In 1987, a 7-year-old child was locked in a pigsty for a week because he did not trust Kim Kishun, and was starved to death. Kim Kishun was also suspected of killing more believers who did not trust him. Because the police did not actively intervene at that time, the body of the deceased was also killed. If it was handled hastily, the victim's family may also be unwilling to cooperate with the investigation out of fear of the cult's obscenity. Kim Kishun was not punished for the murder.
In 1995, believers who escaped the clutches of Children's Paradise submitted a petition to the police, but they were not accepted due to insufficient evidence. The following year, when the Prosecutor's Office saw the relevant petition letter, Kim Kishun and the core cadres of Children's Paradise were investigated on suspicion of murder, tax evasion, corruption, etc. However, because the remains of the missing person suspected of being killed were not found, and South Korea was in a troubled time at the time, there were Many major cases are also being dealt with simultaneously, resulting in the gradual blurring of the focus of cases related to Children's Paradise. The suspect who helped organize the burial of the victim's remains also overturned the criminal statement. In the end, Kim Kishun was only imprisoned for 4 years for tax evasion and corruption.
After Kim Ki-soon was imprisoned, the power of Children's Paradise gradually declined. After the 2000s, there were few religious activities. In recent years, it has become the center of gatherings for the elderly. However, Shinnara Records continues to have a place in the record sales industry, but in Korea, as long as you know Almost all people in Children's Paradise scoffed at Xinnara Records, and idol fans also reminded everyone to carefully choose the channel for buying albums.
