If you were rich, what would you do?
I met an intern who was a year older than me, called dredging. I have a good relationship with her. I also don’t like socializing, I don’t like going out, and I like reading books.
It was just the two of us that day.
I asked her, what would you do if you suddenly had a lot of money?
Her: How much is it?
Me: More than you realize.
So began our fantasy journey.
She said she wanted to buy four houses.
Why four? I'm curious about this number.
She said one is in her hometown in East Malaysia; one is in a prosperous area in West Malaysia, such as KL, which is too expensive to have friends; one is in London; and one is in Finland.
She likes the atmosphere of London. I found out that after I asked her this question, she would sing this song unintentionally:
(Looks like I woke her dream)
I chose Finland because it's a place where students don't have exams and there's a tooth fairy.
She said she wanted to travel. The first place to go is the five-star hotel where she is now working. She wants to become a VIP and let the general manager follow her to check in and eat, and then complain, this food is awful!
She said she wanted to get a tattoo.
She said she wanted to have breast reduction surgery.
She said that she wanted to experience an NGO, because if you don't work, people will become useless.
I said I wanted to decorate my home. There were cracks in some corners of the house, and there were iron doors installed in the wrong direction. I said that I also want to install CCTV, because I don't want to have a dog anymore. My dad really treats dogs like dogs, and he feels very distressed when I feed them something delicious.
I said I wanted to publish a book. The dredging also echoed her thoughts at this time. I said that I would publish books at my own expense, and if there were no sales, I would buy these books and give them to those who care about me.
I said that I wanted to travel, to see yaks in Tibet, and to see celestial burials. I don't want to travel like a tourist, I would want to find a local as a tour guide. I wanted to take pictures in Tibetan clothes (I suddenly remembered that the dance I practiced when I was in the sixth grade of elementary school was Tibetan dance! Oops, I got goosebumps, I did what I wanted to do when I was a child). Now watching "The Dust Settles" and "Tibetan Book of Living and Dying".
I said I wanted to get good at freediving and go diving everywhere and watch whale sharks.
I said that I wanted to see the world's largest sea turtle, the leatherback turtle, which is extinct in Malaysia. It is said that it can grow to three meters long, which must be very large.
I said I wanted to go home and calm down.
I said I wanted to live on an island and do what I love and wear a bikini.
I remembered that the NGO mentioned by dredging is also very good. This can be added to the to-do list, and you want to restore nature.
Then I asked dredging sand, have you ever thought about having a baby?
She frowned and said no, she had enough nieces and nephews to not have children of her own.
I said I was rich and I didn't want to have children. Giving birth to a child is too hard. What you have to bear is not only the physical changes in the ninth month of pregnancy, but also the responsibility for the child's life.
We later called the afternoon we talked about this "rich evening". Just imagining it is a very happy afternoon.
In fact, before thinking about this problem, I didn't fantasize about it, I just thought about what I might need/would do, not out of the box. I think it's good to live off these to-dos, and look at them when you're at a low point, maybe it will ease your anxiety.
What do you want to do when you are rich? I am very curious about your answers, and also want to know the reasons and stories of your thoughts, so I am very happy to read this article.
Like my work? Don't forget to support and clap, let me know that you are with me on the road of creation. Keep this enthusiasm together!
