This article is the after reading of "The Road of Least Resistance" (it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the book), dedicated to you who "are struggling to solve various problems in life".

Does life often make you think, "Why are there so many problems that cannot be dealt with?" The toilet leaks, the car runs out of gas, the child refuses to go to school, the text message from the boss before work, the dog refuses to eat... and so on, live Make yourself a "fire brigade" .

Is your life "on fire" too? Would you pick up a fire extinguisher and want to put out this fire quickly? When "extinguishing fire" has become a habit, our brain's inertial response will look for "hidden dangers" in life. If things go on like this, we will fall into the mode of "solving problems" .

There is nothing wrong with "solving problems", and there are indeed some "transactional issues" in life that we need to solve. As a coach, I am more concerned about the fundamental issues of life, namely: what kind of life do I want to live? ?

Because I don't want to live my life as "solving problems" again and again, and I don't want to fill my life with "problems". If you wear a "problem" lens to observe life and yourself, you can always find the "worth solving" part. But the truth is, there is no problem with life, and neither are you. The "reason/motivation" that makes you feel problematic is what you really need to face.

Fixing problem is a misunderstanding that both clients and coaches can easily fall into during the coaching process. It is true that every coach hopes to help clients solve problems as soon as possible and gain growth, but the main purpose of coaching is not to "solve problems".

In my opinion, the role of the coach is simply to "see" the problem and to "lead" the client to see the "impact" that the problem has on the client's life. As for whether or not to solve this problem, how to solve this problem, and even many times, by "leading" customers to escape the problem again and again, to observe whether there are other more core reasons behind this superficial problem that are blocking you.

The same is true for life.

The toilet leaks, the car runs out of gas, the child refuses to go to school, the text message from the boss before get off work, the dog refuses to eat, etc. These are just the results presented by the events/objects, and among these events, the ones that "trouble you" Part of it is what we really have to face.

The next time you catch a fire, don't rush to put it out.

Think about it, which one will you move first?

May everyone become a better version of themselves and gain peace and love.
