"The Way of Love"
The Lord died for us, and we know what love is from now on; we should also lay down our lives for our brothers. How can the love of God abide in anyone who has the wealth of the world and sees his brother in need but has no pity?
(1 John 3:16-17 NIV)
Our need for powerlessness over sin was first met by God, and our love for our neighbor is a concrete response to this sacrificial act of the Lord. Therefore, caring for life in the present is one of the ways John taught us to love God. As Matthew said in the Gospel of Jesus: The king will answer, "Truly I tell you, if you have done these things to the least of my brothers, you have done them to me. ' (Matthew 25:40 NIV)
_______________
But the angel of the Lord opened the prison door by night and led them out, saying, "Go and stand in the temple, and tell the people all this word of life." (Acts 5:19-20 NIV)
Peter and the other disciples preached the gospel and led many to believe in Jesus, but were also put in prison because of the gospel. One night, the angel of the Lord opened the door of the prison and released Peter and his party, asking them to go out and preach the "word of life". This is God's saving grace. But this was not the case with the German theologian Bonhoeffer. He was not only imprisoned, but even hanged on the eve of Hitler's suicide. However, before that, he left his famous work "Letters in Prison" to influence countless people, and even wrote the poem "All the Power of Goodness" to comfort the hearts of countless people. It was written six years before his arrest: "When Christ calls a man, he calls him to die for him." This is exactly what all of us are called to be disciples of the Lord.
