In fact, the self-learning concept of Segu Education has "curriculum", but it is not the curriculum set by the school, nor the curriculum required by the Education Bureau, nor the curriculum expected by parents. Rather, it is a "course" with children's curiosity.

The so-called free-spirited learning is to learn, learn, absorb knowledge and learn to be a person according to people's natural curiosity. Internet technology is becoming more and more developed, online social platforms, streaming platforms, etc., are rich resources for self-learning, and the cost is very low. My daughter likes music, we will introduce her to listen to different types of period music, she will build her own Playlist on Spotify, in addition to popular songs, there are also independent music and classic period songs. You can find anything you want to hear. This is her concert hall.

A while ago, I watched the documentary "Monsters Inside: The 24 Faces of Billy Milligan" with her, which is a very famous "24 Billy" incident in psychology and criminology. We watch and discuss different social issues, including law and growth psychology, and more.

Sometimes, I'll share documentaries or books or articles or whatever that I've seen, and if she's interested, I'll talk to her about it. For example, after watching "The Andy Warhol Diaries", I will talk to her about contemporary art and Andy Warhol. Because it's something she's interested in.

A long time ago, my daughter shared with us how some YouTubers are using cannabis products to help their emotional problems. I heard it but didn’t understand it, and I wasn’t interested in learning more, because I didn’t think marijuana was a good thing.

It wasn't until recently when I listened to a podcast about marijuana that I didn't understand what I thought I knew.
