The creation of each canvas in The Space is itself an experiment of a small DAO: what kind of future will the decentralized cooperation model lead us to? Will it make members have more "belonging" and vitality? In the operation model of DAO, is relatively centralized management necessary? How centralized is it?

On the evening of March 25th, The Space and SeeDAO held a co-creation event. About 40 people participated in the event. They were divided into two groups, A and B, with SEED as the theme, and invited artists from SeeDAO, Mr. Xixi and Geng Geng. Mr. Dayou served as the team leader to try to construct the framework of the two sets of canvas content, and explained the whole process of the co-creation activity on Bilibili from a third-person perspective.

The concept of Group A is "a GM flag flying in the universe". GM and GN are buzzwords in the chat room of Web3, meaning "Good Morning" and "Good Night", which are the transmission of tenderness and kindness. The whales, cupids, and stars in the background are elements in the universe, and the final work is complete and rich.

The concept of group B is to divide the canvas into two parts: left and right to form a confrontation. (Teacher Dayou said that the inspiration came from Nietzsche's "The Birth of Tragedy"). The image on the left of the canvas is Dionysian, represented by disordered patterns and characters. "Irrationality, desire, chaos, return to nature, madness, destruction", etc., while the image on the right side of the canvas is the sun god, which reflects "formal beauty, analysis and discrimination, formalism and classicism" through regular and symmetrical figures. Although the theme of group B is confrontation, the final works are clearly distinguished, and the left and right coexist peacefully.

As mentioned in the live broadcast, the two groups of works this time coincidentally present the possibility of social development - in addition to cooperation, there will also be contradictions and conflicts. I hope that in reality, we can also be like the finished products of group B, in the confrontation. Learn to be peaceful.

In order to encourage everyone to collaborate and create more interesting works, we have also set up voting for two groups of finished products A and B in the Discord channel of SeeDAO, and the final winning team will also receive a cute NFT badge.

Interestingly, we observed during the voting process that although the works of group A were more "easy to understand" and more "complete and orderly", the initial conception of group A was more concrete - "in the The GM flag in the universe" - This may also make the work of group A more centralized, and let the captain's idea be the dominant, so there is no wider canvassing behavior among team members. However, the members of the group B team are more willing to spontaneously canvass for their works, and even promote themselves on Twitter in other communities. This may be because the creative concept of Group B is more "abstract" at the beginning - the confrontation between disorder and order - which allows creators to have more freedom and possibility in the creative process, such as on the left The "Skull (Evil) Seed" is extended, and the "Flower (Beautiful) Seed" is extended on the right. Because of this, I have a more sense of identity with the work, and I am more willing to actively participate in the follow-up canvassing sessions. Therefore, Group B is also ahead of Group A in the number of votes. Let us congratulate the friends of Group B here~

The creation of each canvas in The Space is itself an experiment of a small DAO: what kind of future will the decentralized cooperation model lead us to? Will it make members have more "belonging" and vitality? In the operation model of DAO, is relatively centralized management necessary? How centralized is it?

We also look forward to having more thoughts and possibilities for the exploration and development of DAO in The Space, which will introduce the on-chain version of Harberger Tax and UBI in the later stage.

Similarly, regardless of the outcome, we will also cast the final product into NFT and distribute it to the address of every creator participating in the event.

Thanks again to the community members of SeeDAO for their active participation!

About The Space:

The Space is a new Web3 project developed by Matters Lab, which is expected to be officially launched on the chain in May this year. In The Space's 2D pixel world, we will use smart contracts to establish pixel property rights, the Harberger tax system, and Universal Basic Income (UBI), exploring the impact of radical market rules, public space governance, and creator economies.
