This year is also coming to an end, and it's time to reflect on what you have done this year to make you feel satisfied and disappointed. Thus, praise yourself and improve your flaws. Also moving forward for the start of next year. What will you be like next year?

After participating in different community activities, I have almost finished what I can write. I am also in the middle of my studies, so take advantage of this time to think about your plans after graduation. Also think about what goals you have achieved this year.

One thing that affects you a lot this year, even enough to change your life (happy or sad)

Internship - Social Enterprise

This internship is working in a social enterprise supported by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. This experience is one of the things that is more special and has influenced me a lot in this year.

1. This internship is the first time in my life that I have done it on a full-time basis.

Yes, during college, I didn't find a long-term job, and only in my spare time helped elementary and middle school students make up their studies. I really feel tortured about having to commute to get off work at the designated time for the week. However, life is about constantly stepping out of your comfort zone, so try your toughness.

2. It's a full-time job with no salary

You read that right, this job is unpaid. This is a three-month job from June to the end of August. There is no subsidy, so I will volunteer to be the free laborer.

3. This job is offered by the school, and it is the most special one

This job is one of the jobs offered by the department I belong to at the university. The subject I took was a bit special because it covered public administration, political science and management. Although it belongs to the liberal arts, half of the courses are management-related. Therefore, most of the work it provides is administrative work. For example: housing management (government workers), property management companies, non-profit organizations... However, the job I chose had nothing to do with management, and was even super unpopular. So the students will compete for those government jobs, or work in property management companies. But I chose a job that no one wanted to pick. In addition, this job requires students to hand in their thoughts and improvements after work every two weeks, and credits will be calculated, which is not bad. But, since there is no salary or subsidy for calculating credits, who came up with that?

The most influential thing happened during the internship. Other students would work with the previous classmates, but I was the only one working in the same institution. However, this opportunity also allowed me to have the courage to communicate more with the disabled people who work there. This organization is a social enterprise, which trains some hearing-impaired people to become florists and provides them with job opportunities. This allows them to have a skill that is no different from ordinary people. They don't want alms from others, on the contrary, they just want a simple sense of recognition and affirmation. In fact, their work ability is really great.

One thing you have changed this year

This year, the biggest change I made is to "walk the talk"

In the past, I always wanted to learn something because of what others were good at. However, after I finished speaking, it was as if nothing had happened, and I was reluctant to take the first step. I, who blow water like this, have also been able to change this year. I wrote down what I said I would accomplish this year and challenged myself. There are the pursuit of academic performance, achievement, getting a diving license, participating in an internship, buying a camera to learn photography... Most of them are successful. Only, the license plate test failed! However, I also tried it and it was a big breakthrough. I hope that next year, I will continue to do what I say.

Challenge diving

In the process of challenging diving, because my water is not very good, I feel extremely pressure in the water. I thought about giving up on the day of the test, and I was very reluctant to face the discomfort and pressure underwater. However, I didn't give up in the end, I gritted my teeth and completed the exam, and successfully got the diving license! ! 🤿

Successfully challenged diving

end-of-year challenge

At the end of the year, when I finished the semester, I finally saved enough money to buy a camera. With a camera in one hand, I take pictures everywhere. Perhaps, this is what I promised to do, in time for the end of the year.

Three "event name", "reason or reason", "how to achieve this thing" for next year's plan .

1. Think about the topic of your graduation thesis

Next year, I am already a fourth-year university student, and I will also finish my graduation thesis. This process can be both painful and enjoyable. The pain is to think of a suitable research topic, and then to have the instructor say OK is true. After that, I also have to find references, collect and analyze data, proofread the text... This process must be repeated more than a hundred times. So, I'm thinking of at least one research topic that I want to do, and it's feasible. Presumably, I will discuss the topic I want to study with a professor I know well. See if there are any flaws, and then fix them.

2. Go to bed early and get up early

This year, my living habit is to get up at 11 am and go to bed at 2 am. This habit makes me feel unhealthy and I feel like I'm wasting a lot of time. Then, I also have a lot of things I want to learn, so going to bed early and getting up early may give me more time to do what I like to do. You can also adjust your biological clock to make yourself healthier. The way to do this is to keep yourself from working late at night. Allow your body to slowly regain its rhythm.

3. Graduated from university and found the graduate school you want to study

I expect that I will be able to graduate smoothly next year. However, I am the kind of person who often thinks about things for a long time and hesitates. And I also decided that I wanted to go to graduate school. But when it comes to choosing what subjects to study, I feel like I don't know how to count because there are many subjects I'm very interested in. I can't decide in which country to go to graduate school. Therefore, at least in the middle of the next year, I have to think about the research institute I want to do, and start implementing the plan. I will also start looking for the detailed information of the national research institutes on the Internet as soon as possible, so that I can have a general idea and delete some research institutes that I do not want to read. I will also communicate with some brothers and sisters to see how they choose. If the institute is abroad, also start planning to apply for a scholarship.
