Due to habit, or insufficient material library (possibly in the brain or computer), more synonyms or synonyms are used as fillers unconsciously to fill the gaps. It may not be easy for the writer to notice, and it is difficult to change in a short time, but there are a few small methods that may be tried.

In some work review briefings and solutions to clients, I sometimes see some plausible statements, such as saying...

"They're preparing for a progressive security operation" → what are they preparing for? doing what? What's going on?

"Yes, we are working hard to follow up with a customer to discuss opportunities for communication..." → So is there a chance or no chance? What's the situation now? Have an appointment or not?

"Such a measure plays a key role in building this platform..." → (╯-_-)╯ ~╩╩

Interestingly, this symptom does not necessarily happen to people who are just learning to write academic papers or solutions, some veterans or senior managers may also have it.

1. Read it out with your mouth : Scanning the text quickly with your eyes usually doesn’t seem to be a problem. When you read every word and sentence at a normal rhythm, you can easily feel something strange, which helps you focus on the range and range to be adjusted. The way of expression is somewhat related to the sense of language and the corpus in the brain.
2. Ask a bystander to read : Show your presentation or article to a non-supervisor or non-participant. She/he may not understand the professional content as well as you, but sometimes it is a benefit, and it is easy to find mistakes in the writing and expression.
3. Cut off half the length : This trick is a bit ruthless, but once you have a successful experience, you will be very impressed. Simply put, after the content is written, ask yourself to rewrite it with only half the word or page limit. That's how people are. Sometimes, if you don't limit the number of words, it's easy to be unscrupulous. Saying one sentence is equal to not saying it XD. For example, the above example "Such a measure plays a key role in the construction of this platform..." → "The teaching model is the basis for designing this platform".
